I mean....he's a good defender and young. Excessive, but not many other targets
A new World record for a defender and signing Fofana is madness. Few targets or not.
you would expected an established international, still fairly young
21 years old and missed 62 games in his career with injuries.
80 mill € + bonuses is insane. Good player, great talent but probably 30-35 mill to much.
Welcome to the 21st century where the game has been totally ruined by Arabs Russian's and Chinese.
Antony has done an interview, practically begging to be sold
Good on Ajax for sticking to their stance.
Ajax are a selling club full stop, they are not competing with the heavyweights in Europe so really they should be biting their hand off for that kind of money.
From an owners standpoint it's usually all about business so I've surprised they've rejected the bid.
Hope They Get him. He could be good; but not where They need it The most
They’ve already sold players for 120 mill €. They can wait another year with Antony.
He wants that cash money.
Can’t really blame him - 80m or whatever is a good fee.
Big fan of klopp seeing his arse. Thiago gets injured, and our midfield collapses. Too many workhorses not enough technicians. And those workhorses are getting fucking old
Haha WTF does China have to do with anything? Those insane salaries and transfers were unsustainable and no longer permitted. Only lasted a few years before going the way of the Dodo.
Everton sign Maupay, the French Shane Long
If true, great but absolutely fucking shite if it means we're not getting a mid now. We needed one before the season started
I can see both sides TBH. We do need more now, no doubt about it, but I remember similar things being said when the Virgil transfer was getting sticky. If we can't have both (and IMO it's legit to question the owners over that), on balance I would agree with holding out for the player we most want.
Some rag reporting we are after both Konrad Laimer and Ruben Neves, which could see Naby go the other way. Regardless getting those two would make the MF very strong. Konrad is a millie type player who can function in variety of areas
I like the Neves rumor. He replaces/rotates Thiago and he is still young, but with loads of experience.
Bellingham comes in replaces Hendo. And, I really like the look of Bacetic and with more youngsters coming through, we should not need to buy another midfielder for a while with Fabio and Elliott.
But, we do need the box-to-box energy, drive, and strength of a Bellingham-type and Neves would be great complement for him, while some others mentioned are more in the Bellingham mold.
