Following the mixed views on Rooney's injury last night, I'm curious as to the percentages of English Liverpool fans who actually care about the England national team.

Do you care?

And please, no Irish, etc, sabotaging the votes 😉

I voted "yes" but in truth I'm not really that arsed.

I hate almost every player in the England team so much that I can take some succour when they get beat by just looking at the likes of Dead Mum, Mongo, Plug, Cashley, Granny Shagger et al.

Same as Brendan, yes but not really arsed if I'm honest. I'd like to see them do well but it's really not a bother if they don't

Seriously speaking.. apart from being a top player, what has Lampard ever done to be lumped in with the likes of Rooney, Rio, Cole and Terry?

Nothing really. Apart from being a massive cunt.

As much as I hate the cockney brigade... I'll have half an eye on Englands progress, if we get to the quarters I'll be passionate as the next guy... until we get knocked out on peno's.

I don't see it.

He's not particularly mouthy on the field. I don't see him crowding referees likes his teammates. He doesn't dive or feign injury. He hasn't been caught up in off the field scandals and he hasn't written a book that was trying to be controversial for the sake of controversy.

Maybe being mates with Drogba, Terry and Cole qualify him as one, but I would put in him a similar group to Giggs and Scholes. Players who I begrudginly respect.

Much as I dislike most of their players, I always get a tingle of excitement when the World Cup (or Euro Championships) starts, and part of that is hoping England do well. It's not the same as (or even similar to) supporting Liverpool; it's more like a reflex, something I can't control. I would never wave a St George flag or anything, but I'd cheer if we beat a decent team, absolutely.

he rolls his shorts up during training to better show off his waxed legs: he's clearly a tool.

plus the obvious fact that he just is an incredible tosser, anyone can see that.

Didn't he have a bit of Crouch's missus at the last world cup?

Also a minor point, but he pisses me off with his fucking tongue out all the time like he's Michael Jordan. Twat.

The world cup is the only time I do care about England. Until the second we are in it I could care less, and the same the second we are out of it. I really don't give a shit about the euros.

yes.

but it goes like this; apathy until the world cup/euro cup rolls round, then the excitement kicks in, we lose or draw the first game of the group, reality kicks in, but we get better and better and you get sucked in, we then lose (heroically of course) and there is deflation which turns to apathy when the new season begins...

rince and repeat...

I want them to do well. Id like them to win the damn thing so every 4 years we don't have to listen to stories about 1966.

i don't care all that much, mainly because we've got so many bastards playing for us, but it would be great to see how devastated all the celts would be if we won it.

I wish the team well and I admire Capello, but it's really hard to support the cunt crew.

That said, Gerrard deserves a big trophy and Capello is a man who can deliver it, so I will hope they do extremely well.

Absolutely Loving that Rooney is injured for the Scum, hopefully till the end of the season.

Hope that he returns to his storming form for the WC.

I'm with you on this one. He is a bit of a tosser occasionally and could use better choices in friends but once I found out about the amount of charity work he does I have to admit I changed my views on him.

I'm quite rare amongst my mates in that I do care about England. I fucking love the World Cup. In fact, out of my Scouse mates there's only really Piedro who feels the same.

I care about England but not nearly as much as I care about LFC. Couldn't give a rat's about the effect of Shrek's injury on England's chances - IMO it's far more important that ManUre's 19th be delayed as long as poss.

I'm well up for the World Cup and as soon as it starts, all the players from other clubs will become "our lads" in my eyes. In fact, my two England strips have Rooney and Terry on the back.

I don't get it. You guys are English. Born there, bred there. This is your national team, why aren't you supporting them? I can see supporting cunts can be a bit tricky but at least they are talented players. Do you feel pride when you watch Hurst scoring the 'they thinks it's all over' goal? Bobby Moore with the cup? Do you not want to feel happy that your countries team is world champions? I don't get it at all.

I wouldn't know the right words to try and express how happy I would be if Ireland won the World Cup (unlikely as it is/will always be).
