Manchester United bust-up will see Anderson quit Old Trafford

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been told he can quit Old Trafford after a furious bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Brazilian star left Fergie fuming after reacting badly to his failure to make the starting line-up for the Community Shield defeat by Chelsea.

The Scot was so angry he later confronted Anderson over his actions and was stunned by the 21-year-old’s refusal to back down.

Anderson insisted he was good enough to be in the team and was frustrated at being overlooked, with rookie Darron Gibson taking his place in the squad.

And with the Brazilian international claiming he would prefer to quit rather than sit on the sidelines, Ferguson is willing to grant him his wish.

Anderson’s flare-up has seen him barely feature this season. He played 59 minutes stuck out on the left wing in the defeat at Burnley and hardly made an impact.

He didn’t even make the bench for the 5-0 win over Wigan, with Gibson being handed the job of shoring up the centre of midfield when Paul Scholes tired.

The row is a major blow to Ferguson who hoped the former Porto star would mature into a key player this season.

But having seen his close pal Cristiano Ronaldo leave for Real Madrid in the summer, Anderson could soon be following him out of the Old Trafford door.

United paid nearly £18m for Anderson in May 2007 after Ferguson’s scouts told him the midfielder was one of the best prospects around.

He fired one of the shoot-out penalties in the 2008 Champions League final win over Chelsea after coming on as a sub, and started the defeat by Barcelona in last season’s competition, but he now faces an uncertain future.

This could be bad news potentially, if they go out and buy someone else. It's a ready made excuse for them to buy >🙁

Yeah, i'm quite happy for them to keep Anderson - he's absolutely rubbish.

£18m and currently behind Lucas in the pecking order for brazil

Anderson can be good on his day, but he hasn't been the same since Mascher drilled him a new ringpiece at Anfield last season.  There's a reason why Lucas gets games ahead of him for their country.

I"m more interested in the bust up between the West Ham and Millwall 'firms'.

Anyone got a clip of it ? Could do with a laugh right now.

Anderson is a very good player, and a huge fans favourite.

No, he isn't.
Did you see how foolish he was made to look in the CL final?
Also, he carries zero goal threat. I'd be happy for him to stay there.

I don't know where you get the idea that he's a fans favourite Anita, he's not. He's their Babel.

Based on what though?

He rarely plays, never scores or creates, and has been turned from supposedly one of the worlds best young attacking players into a bog standard defensive midfielder. He cost the same as Mascherano!

From what i've seen United fans did a lot of crowing when he first arrived about how good he would be, and now are perfectly happy not to mention his name.

I still think he could blossom into a good player Anita, but he's far from a 'very good player'. He started well and faded and now looks generally like he doesn't contribute much.

Maybe the problem for them is that they haven't got much quality in the middle of the park so (kinda like Lucas), aswell as being short on that extra something he's a victim of not having that bit of quality and spark alongside him.

I know he's got Scholes in there but his best years are behind him.

I rate him. He's not a goal threat, but he's excellent at putting himself about, covers lots of ground and wins the ball back, he's very good at unsettling the opposition midfield, and got a decent passing range.

Having had a look on a few scum forums, they seem to be quite split over him, some love him others hate him. A few of the Utd supporters I know absolutely love him.

He's workman like, a lot of what he does goes unnoticed.

Oh, and he's miles better than Lucas.

Anderson vows to fight for place
(UKPA) – 3 hours ago

Anderson has admitted he is frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities so far this season but insists he does not want to leave Manchester United.

The Brazilian midfielder's only start came in last week's defeat by Burnley while he is reported to have clashed with boss Sir Alex Ferguson after being left out of the team for the Community Shield meeting with Chelsea earlier this month.

Anderson told the Daily Mail: "I believed that I would play in the Community Shield but that is forgotten now. But the coach decides the teams and to discuss this with him is foolish because he is the chief. I do not want to leave United. No."

He added: "I thought that, without Cristiano Ronaldo around, I could to play more and that has been my challenge from pre-season onwards.

"Sir Alex Ferguson has demanded a bigger effort from me and I accept that. Because to get into this United team is very complicated and difficult for any player."

Meh

I wouldn't have him as 'miles' better than Lucas.
Lucas is getting into the Brazil sqaud at the expense of Anderson right now.

No he's not, bar the odd game they're both average at best. I prefer Lucas for 6M than Anderson for 18.

I gotta say, I didn't realise they paid that much for him.

Liverpool tinted glasses or not, Anderson can hold his own against any premiership midfielder, Lucas can't.

I'd swap five Lucas' for Anderson.

I'd swap Lucas for any Anderson

Every once in a while he has an amazing match other than that he's a black lucas.

Has he broken into the Brazil squad?

I'd also switch him for Lucas, but admittedly there's not a huge deal between the players.

Anderson's simply being too big for his boots, and the writing's probably on the wall now he's crossed Fergie..

That's absolute shit.

I read reports ages that Brazilian critics were complaining the United are ruining him by deploying him out of position.

I expected a totally different player when he came. I expected a power forward in the Ronaldinho mould not a defensive midfielder/ box to box player. He doesn't score or assist goals, however what he does carry is a presence. He tries to impose himself onto games and you would certainly know he's playing. He isn't afraid to get stuck and has bundles of pace. Is that enough to cut it. Doubt Fergie thinks so anyway.

I had feared he would become a great player. I'm delighted he hasn't progressed like United fans had hoped. Hope he fucks off to Inter to work with Mourinho again for half that they paid for him.

One final note, can someone please dig up the old thread after he supposedly dominated Gerrard and certain posters exclaimed that Anderson had everything and would be a superstar for United.

Anderson Smanderson, he reminds me of Norma from Shameless.

Every season ticket holder I know thinks he's shit, so I've no idea what this fans favourite thing is all about.

Plus, he looks like the fat Geordie lesbian in shameless.
