Kenny Dalglish is monitoring the situation of Angel Di Maria after the Argentine angered his bosses by going public with his demands for a wage increase, sportsvibe claims. The 23-year-old has only recently joined the new age Galacticos, but could become surplus to requirement should their number one target Neymar be acquired.
Liverpool were linked with the highly rated winger back in 2009, but ultimately failed to land his signature when Real Madrid came in and stole the player from under the club’s noses.
And with Stewart Downing’s proposed move hitting a snag, and Manchester United’s signing of Ashley Young, Liverpool will have to move quickly should they hope to find wingers to get the best out of Andy Carroll and provide width to a narrow squad.
Purchased for £20m, the attacker would receive a minimum price tag of £30M as Real Madrid look to make a profit just over a year after first signing the player. Yet despite this, Liverpool have shown a willingness to spend whatever it takes should the player be deemed as good enough to warrant his fee.
Di Maria is currently on duty with the Argentina national side ahead of the Copa America tournament and will most likely resolve his future upon his return.
Ambitious but no way on Earth would this ever happen. Ever.
