A policeman has been arrested after allegedly shooting a friend in South Africa following a row over Liverpool's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday, according to the Mirror.
The man, who has not yet been named, was reportedly at a barbecue in Durban with pals when he was taunted about Liverpool's loss at the Emirates Stadium.
The Mirror claim that many of them were Manchester United fans, prompting the Liverpool supporter to pull out a gun and shout “Manchester United – who?” before firing a shot at the victim, according to one witness.
The shot friend was taken to hospital with lung and liver injuries after collapsing, while the gunman was also admitted to hospital - albeit under police guard - after he complained of feeling unwell.
Arsenal took all three points thanks to goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey.
The Gunners subsequently extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points.
