Brazil v Argentina

He knew that fucker was in as soon as he hit it. Trademark goal that I guess we take a bit for granted, a cracker nonetheless.

1) not good that he's starting to establish himself on the int'l stage - more eyes on him will mean pressure from Madrid/Barca in the summer.
2) Love how he reacts after he hits it ... he's getting that confident.

I didn't expect it to be that quick:

[article]Sport announce that FC Barcelona’s prime objective in the transfer market is to sign Liverpool’s Coutinho.

Sport have also listed other reasons why the Catalans believe in the Coutinho deal, including the fact that the player has lived in Barca before during a loan spell with Espanyol from Inter Milan, while the paper also claim Coutinho has the “technical and tactical” nous to fit in at the Camp Nou.[/article]

I wouldn't sell this year - if we finish top 4, we need to keep the base and improve it ... We saw what happens when we sell our best player the year after a good run.
He's my favourite player, of course I don't want to sell him.

He was always gonna go at some point.

Best we can hope for is a bidding war between barca and psg.

Then buy max Meyer, Julian draxler and see if we can find another goalscorer

I'm not sure Barca have any young talent that we can trade-off with them. If Real Madrid want Coutinho the price should be Isco + £60m but for Barca it would have to be cash only....£85m.

Sadly, you are correct.
Iniesta better get healthy and tear shit up the rest of the year.

For the midfield position (not counting the defense mid) Barca have Iniesta, Rakitic, Arda, Denis Suarez, Andre Gomes and Rafa Alacantra. You could argue than Coutinho is better than most in their squad, but Barca have invested a serious amount of cash on 4 of these players in the last two years. Will have to sell a few to make space to finance what it would take to buy Coutinho from us. Keep in mind they have either renewed or in talks to renew contracts for Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Busquets, Pique etc and have some where close to a billion euro bill for the New Camp Nou. Possible but looks unlikely they would have close to 80-90 million euro available for one player

The new confident dancing Coutinho is starting to worry me.

I liked the awkward afro shy guy more.

New Coutinho will tell us to fuck off and join Barca.

I worry that when articles start popping up in papers about Barca/Real/Bayern etc are going to buy player X it means that player X is wanting to move and his agent is putting it out there.
It was only after Gerrard retires that it was revealed that there had been enquires made for him (unsurprisingly I suppose) by many of the continents elite teams in the 08-11 period only to be rebuffed by the player himself. I don't recall any of this being reported or even speculated on in the sports media at the time.
No smoke without fire I fear.

Give him a bumper new contract with a gazillions buy out clause.

Maybe he loves it here and will stay.
