Apparently Torres was still judged by Brukner's staff to be the fastest player at the club during his last season, although Brukner also admitted that there is a problem with one of Torres' knees. Gerrard, he said, had been patched up so many times before his final injury it was the best thing that could have happened to him to be out for so long and re-educated about how to cope during a season.
