Buying tickets for this beloved club of ours.

So, the next bulk sale of tickets approaches, and now I'm trying to navigate the most frustrating process of being a Liverpool fan, buying bloody tickets.

So I'm trying to buy tickets for me and two friends for next year, now if I'm to understand it correctly, I'll need to renew my fancard as well as buy two new fan cards for my two friends just to have a chance of purchasing? And the only games that will be on sale to skrubs like me are the following; Swansea City, Burnley, AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Southampton. Basically I have to drop £78 just for the chance to maybe get a ticket to a game against standard opposition if i'm lucky? Have I got that right?

I absolutely hate the system the club uses for tickets, either spend a fuck ton of money hoping to buy a ticket 5months in advance for a game which is incredibly likely to be moved, or hope to get lucky two weeks before the game, it makes organising to go Anfield madly stressful and almost futile.

Anyway, rant aside, people who've used the system before, do you think their is much chance of the Everton or Arsenal games getting to members sale, or will they almost certainly sell out before reaching there?

I'd be pretty confident they will sell out to members with four or more games from last season on their card.
Man U is the only fixture that has come under this selling criteria so far this season, and I know it is Man U, but it sold out very quickly and never went to a general members sale.

Yeh, i figured it would be that way, if anything demand would have increased this July due to our success, so I fear I'll have no chance of getting a ticket, the only games we can make is Burnley or Southampton (or Arsenal / Everton if they make it to general sale by some miracle), so I'm somewhat anxious of spending the £78, then me getting nothing.

It's gonna be a fucking nightmare getting tickets cos we're playing so well & are doing so well.

If you didn't need four together I'd recommend getting them elsewhere, as spending nearly £80 with no guarantee of getting any tickets is a bitch.

I blame Trump, I mean Ayre.. BUILD THAT STAND BUILD THAT STAND.

That is ridiculous, I mean I didn't min the old fancard system from 2004 where I paid a fiver and getting tickets was a doddle but to now charge annual membership is nothing short of a con.

I think the bubble is about to burst with all this premier league revenue, the clubs clearly don't give a shit about the fans.

I see Scudamore is now demanding from next year that away fans have to be sat on the sidelines rather than behind the goals or up in the gods "to make the atmosphere better". Shame that it's not.

It is a joke.. I thought all clubs would be the same, however I was naive. My father in law supports City, I was able to call them the other day and buy tickets for their final game of the season (yep thats right, this far in advance) for a birthday present.

As 737Max put above.. BUILD THAT STAND BUILD THAT STAND

That's more about the lack of demand at City though isn't it?

We do seem to have by far the most difficult system I've heard of.

It's a system designed by this guy↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓. Here he representing the club on a promotional tour. He has also made a '69 joke' on documentary about the club. Your welcome TSV 1860, good luck.

Hmmmm. Maybe it's not about demand. Stats show City sell a slightly higher % of tickets than us and stadium Size about the same.

That's arguably misleading though, cos city's tickets are practically given away for loads of their matches. They even have cheap tickets for some of their big games.

My mates a Utd fan, lives in Wigan, the rest of his family live in Wigan & Blackburn supporting their home teams, yet his family regularly go to city games with their kids cos it actually costs less than seeing Wigan or Blackburn. Have a guess who the kids now support?

We are a Group of 8 going for the Subderland game. I have got 8 tickets for an average of 75 pounds each. So definately a good options to spend the 80 quids first and then maybe get the tickets?

Splashed the cash, I'd better get a ticket on Thursday now

I was just about to say it's Monday but thought i'd double-check. Of course you're correct it's disabled tickets from Monday....

Yes I agree, since introduced this system has basically fukced up everything, especially for those outside the UK who have to organise transport and hotels in advance and is the major reason I haven't brought my lad to Anfield for the past three seasons.
So, I bit the bullet and bought two memberships and will go to a tier three game in April/May (although we ARE going to the Arsenal game for his birthday, only because I've been promised tickets)

Don't mean to sound an old fogie but I queued for the Kop for my first match in 1981 and paid £1.90 at the gate.....ok i do sound old.

Open it up on two different browsers and your phone. Get in earlier than the actual start of sale too. Click it about 15 -20 mins before until you get placed in the queue.
If you get in go straight for Annie Road Lower tickets..easier to get and don't faff about as you won't many chances. How many are you looking for together ?

Keep trying, even if it says sold out. People will have then in their basket but fuck up and a single might get released back into the pool. If you get tickets in your basket, screenshot page in case they vanish. This often happens. Club might honour tickets if you prove system left you down. Best of luck BTW.

Three tickets, would like tickets on the Kop, is that a bit of a long shot do you reckon?

Yep. I think so anyway. I'd be worried you'd select 3 together and three won't be available and then you've missed the boat. You could try it first and then go straight to Anfield Road. A ticket is a ticket at the end of the day. I'll be logged in as well and will try for you.

8.15am is a terrible time for a ticket sale, for me anyway. Might have to plan this properly what with school runs and work and all that brings!

How frustrating, now I'm in two minds, would love the kop and it'll be my friends first time, but maybe it's best to play it safe. Oh well, some how got to get into work for 7:30am just to get in queue in time, such a ballache!

Those stats about capacity are pointless because they are based on ticket sales and not on actual bums-on-seats. I went to 2 Man City games last season and on both occasions there were between 6,000-8,000 empty seats! It is bizarre that they are considering a ground extension to increase capacity. I'm led to believe that at United it is similar in that the "official" crowd is usually about 7,000 above the actual turnout. Fair play to these teams that they can sell seats that don't get used but it does seem such a shame that they are going to waste.

Back when United were winning stuff, tickets were fairly hard to come by whereas all my United mates now can get tickets for games anytime they want 🙂

The new seats in the new stand are mostly corporate shit that's been sold in five year slots.

Does anyone know if the club are still cracking down on people using other people's member cards as tickets? I might try and get tickets to a second game for me and my girlfriend, but fortunately she doesn't look much like a Mark. Weren't they throwing people out at the beginning of the season for doing it?
