Apparently he's either gone already or is about to leave. When he came to LFC 5 years ago, he was the first all-around quality and defensively dependable RB we've had in years. Strange way to end his career here with all the injuries and loans, but wishing him well for the future. YNWA!

Liverpool set to release Nathaniel Clyne
11/06/20

Nathaniel Clyne is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer in the coming weeks, per Football Insider.
The right-back’s contract expires at the end of next month and he has not been offered a short-term extension that would enable him to play for the club until the end of the season.

Clyne is subsequently poised to leave on June 30th despite spending five years at Anfield.
The former Southampton right-back moved to Merseyside in 2015 after the two clubs struck a £12.5 million deal.
The 29-year-old has not played for the Reds at all this season, and spent the second half of last season on loan at AFC Bournemouth.
He has even been informed that he should train alone on Merseyside, as his Reds tenure comes to an end.
Clyne has been an exceptional right-back during his time in the Premier League, making 103 appearances in total for the club.
An England international who has won 14 caps for his country, Clyne has perhaps understandably lost his position to the outstanding Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Joe Gomez can also play at right-back, rendering Clyne somewhat obsolete in the eyes of manager Jurgen Klopp.
Thus, a move makes all the sense in the world and one has to imagine that the defender will have n shortage of suitors in the top-flight; he is a full international, after all, and has plenty of experience.

I think he was the one player who never 'got' Klopp. He seemed the one who, early on, showed no enthusiasm for the manager, and just got on with it without ever really buying into it. Probably had the same attitude to the club as a whole.

If he's not full on broken, he should find another club fairly easy. He's the second best RB we have at the club but understand he might not be suited to the system.

Ever since it has been established that secret bans for drug test failures do occur in English football I've been 100% convinced that Clyne's almost exactly 12 month absence was one. His career just derailed after it.

Yeah , that's what 30k off the wage bill, he's been a ghost for past 2 years , won't be missed

That's long been rumoured about him hasn't it?

When we signed him he was the best RB in the country, keeping Walker (deservedly) out of the England side, but he's been a total fool to himself and needed to go ages ago. I just hope he can keep himself out of the gutter now.

I'm not really one for conspiracies normally, but this one is right up there with with Epstein not committing suicide. He even had that single appearance against United, where he did alright and then was never seen again.

And then there's the likes of these things:
His reality TV appearance:

Being sent home from the USA preseason tour:

This party:

Basically all the kind of things you'd never see James Milner do.

Yeah, something was definetly off with him and his «injuries».

According to Spotrac, his base salary is 3 640 000 £ per year, so 70k a week of the wage budget.

I took an instant disliking to him when Ryan said the shit red leather backpack he was wearing to his signing on thingy cost a couple of grand or something.

Fuck off.
