Drives me wild when friends and family just roll over and fork out thousands on replacement white goods and other electricals purely cause it stops working and they aren't sure one the warranty status or whether there was one in the first place.

Just gave some American lady from samsung a smack down of Biblical proportions as she told the rents to essentially naff off over their Fridge freezer combination and suggested them buying a new model to replace this one!

(I didn't think much of the whole situation till i came round yesterday and heard mum mutter something to dad about them going out today to spend X on a replacement!)

Anyway a few SOGA related comments later and a good old rant, we've got an Engineer and reference number sorted for an in-house repair, free-of-charge.

The missus did the same when her blackberry went kaput and someone at o2 wasn't a hundred percent sure on their their repair policy.

Again I did the same thing to Talk Talk when they over charged them by £30 over 3 months - yeah its not a big deal but it was the principle. Im probably a good twenty years ahead of myself here but the throw-away nature when it comes to expensive goods does my nut in!

As someone who works in mobile telecomms i see this shit first hand, sometimes i have to hold back the laughter when i hear colleagues chatting shit over their non-existent rights as consumers.

Anyone had a run in and come out on top?
