We were poor in the first half, but with a bit more luck it could have been 1-1, and a totally different game. Got into it a bit more in the second half, but always second best really. Away at City will always be tough, but we needed a result.
Yeah and we spent £400 mill this summer and we have a manager who doesn't trust half his squad.
I think we looked tired, otherwise par for the course unfortunately.
No. He's fucking useless.
I don't think there's an easy fix to this, even if a consensus develops that slot can't do that fixing.
We were absolutely pathetic. Slot was tactically outclassed. That City team are nowhere near the level of past City teams and they dominated in second gear.
That said, the officials ruined that as a spectacle and a contest. We might have made something of it in the second half had we gone in at 1-1. Instead it was 2-0 and the game was over. Any improvement in the second half was irrelevant and moot. The game was done.
Anyone can lose away at City. And heavily too. The performance and the tactics were a worry, though. Slot has got until the New Year for me. If we haven't improved significantly by January, then he has to go.

Yeah, I'm not saying I expect the improvements. I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt as we won the league last year.
If we hadn't, I would have gotten rid by now.

Simply didn’t fight enough to take anything from that. We had a days extra rest too.
For their first goal no one pressures the crosser, then Ibu misses the header which is something he’ll rehearse 40 times a training session. Poor.
For their second goal we didn’t put any pressure on the shooter and Virgil was a bit lazy in his blocking.
You only need to be 1% off it at this level to lose, and thats what we did.
We need to take stock in the break and work out what this team is trying to be. Our CBs will get more fatigued, both mentally and physically as they are going to have to start every game time Jan. if we don’t sign a CB in Jan i think we’re going to get one of the injured.

Thats all fair enough when it comes to the teams defensive abilities and highlighting the defensive players....But there is more to say about the team as a whole and offensively in particular.

Awful result for the confidence we got from the two previous games.
I think most wanted the same team to start, we just looked knackered from the first minute.
Hopefully the next run of games allows us to go a run.
Looks more like a transition season with a run at the CL now.
At the start of the week 2 wins and a loss away to City would have been seen as progress but this performance stings.

Their manager knows how to rotate and rest a squad. Their manager also knows when to get rid or phase players out.
