Post Match EPL Burnley (H) 1-1 January 17th 15:00

Mac Allister had best chances late to score. Wasn't even close. Gakpo's miss was huge. Wirtz was by very far the best player on the pitch.

Dunno why you're all disappointed. We were never beating Burnley. Low blocks just dominate the game and tats why that tactic has won leagues and trophies for the last decade.

Hello xabi
Xabi over Slot? Xabi is Spanish. Could be an inroad into the Spanish market, which is the biggest market out there in terms of value. Liverpool could ever get a hold of second pickings, like with Benitez, but could still be something. I'm not so sure. I don't think so.

I think we might need to do more in transition than all run back really hard and get into a low block.

The teams getting results against us need only be decent for about 10 minutes. We are so mentally fragile and you see it in the nervous response to being pressed, and the laboured fucking build up play.

Our attack did fine against the low block, but the whole complexion of every game changes if no lead is safe at any point.

Also, we don't attack space well and don't counter with any lethality. The response to going a goal up is generally bad. We used to be the worst team at 2-0 I'd ever seen. Now we are the worst with any lead.

Our off the ball set up is very unsophisticated.

i got a second wind for watching slots dogshit football after salah went to afcon because i thought there might be a spark or a sniff of what the future holds. but nah this is still shite and i’ve lost the will again.

The thing is we can’t afford to not act in terms of Slot. This isn’t sustainable. No CL football would be a crisis.

If we play like we did in the first half that belief is there. But it’s reeks of cowardice to set us up to start the second half sitting back.

We as a club can’t be happy with an approach like that.

Almost all of our issues begin with a lead. Unforgivable.
This is not really true. Liverpool played with many midfielders (Grav, Jones, Wirtz, Szobo) who are selfish and don't pass balls easily among each other. They fight for places among each other and then don't like passing to each other. Grav and Jones, in particular. But Szobo too has turned such. Nobody likes to pass it to Wirtz. That is an underlying issue that didn't start with the lead. Then there is the fact that Gakpo and Ekitike are fundamentally similar players (tall, fast, right footed). So they don't complement each other well.
