- Cruzeiro would be looking for at least €8 million
- Cruzeiro owns 60% of the player
- Fiorentina and Man Utd also interested
- Al Jaish (QAT) made €10 million but player rejected offer in preference to stay and try to win the league (which they did)

Probably been the best player in Brazil this season. Rumors has it Scolari will call him next time. Everton Ribeiro!
Everton Ribeiro has scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists in the league this season. Voted 7 times MOTM. Can play on both wings or as no.10.
Everton Ribeiro's position is right winger or AM. Can also play on left if needed. Which means he'd fit perfectly with Coutinho in a 4222.
Usually after Globo comes Lancenet in being reliable. So usually they are reliable yes. Better to wait to make sure, of course.

It would be funny. It would be a problem for Everton to sign a player called Liverpool. They would have to call him Red Shite.

According to Brazilian daily Lance, both English Premier League giants have had scouts watching the 24-year-old in recent weeks and each are impressed with what they have seen.

Interest in Ribeiro comes as no surprise to Cruzeiro, who rejected a bid of €10m from Qatari outfit Al Jaish in July, with the midfielder having expressed his desire to stay and help the club fight for the Brazilian title.

Now the eyes of Europe's elite are focused on him, Ribeiro is not getting carried away either, being quoted by Tutto Mercato as saying: "I have not talked to my agent yet, I asked [him] to speak only with Cruzeiro and let me concentrate only on the team.

"We still have more games and I want to end the season in the best way possible."

Cruzeiro have clinched this season's Brazilian title and Ribeiro may yet view that as the best possible way to sign off from Brazilian football.

However, pushing for a spot in next summer's World Cup in his homeland could also be a consideration for the midfielder.[/article]

David Moyes is keen to add to his attacking options in the upcoming January transfer window and reports in Brazil suggest United have sent scouts to watch the forward in action.
Ribeiro, 24, admits the chance to play for United is one that would prove too hard to turn down if the offer came around.
He told Brazilian TV: “I will continue doing my job here at Cruzeiro but plan on getting to a big club, it's a dream I've had since I was young, I've always liked Manchester United."

Ribeiro was a star performer for Cruzeiro last season helping the club capture the Brasileiro Serie A title ahead of Atletico Paranaense and Gremio.
The former Brazil Under-20 international has impressed in the Brazilian top flight netting 43 times during stints at Corinthians, Sao Caetano, Coritiba and Cruzeiro.
But after only one season at Cruzeiro, United will face a fight to convince the club to part with their star man.
Ribeiro is currently rated at £7m and Cruzeiro are bracing themselves for a new year bid from United.

[article=http://twentyfour7football.com/no-man-united-contact-say-cruzeiro-21097]Cruzeiro have denied reports that Manchester United have made an offer for winger Everton Ribeiro, amid heavy speculation.

Ribeiro attracted attention when he stated that his dream is to play for a club such as Man United, and he has now helped his club achieve domestic success in Brazil.

However, the club’s director of football Alexandre Mattos has denied reports that contact has been made between them and the Premier League champions, stating that there is no desire to allow Ribeiro, or any other player, to leave.

“There are no offers, just speculation,” he told Globo Esporte. “Everton Ribeiro said he dreams of playing for Manchester United, then people started talking, and they said he would cost €8 million (£6.7 million) – that makes no sense.

“We turned down a €10 million (£8.3 million) offer [from the Middle East] for the percentage we own and that happened halfway through the season.

“Cruzeiro don’t want to let any player go. On the contrary, we want to bring in more players and that’s not me talking, the president said that.

“Of course we are responsible, and if an absurd offer for Everton Ribeiro or any other player comes, we have to sell.”[/article]

Meh, scum supporters wouldn't have cared about Ronaldo's 'dream move' to Liverpool once he was scoring for fun for them.
If he's good, put the money on the table and get him.
A Manc called Everton helping us win the league is fine by me.

[article=http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/manchester-united-target-everton-ribeiro-named-brazils-player-of-the-year-8973638.html]Cruzeiro's Everton Ribeiro has been named Brazil's player of the year, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said today.

The attacking midfielder, who is being watched by Manchester United according to media reports, was Cruzeiro's standout player as they ran away with Brazil's Serie A title.

Cruzeiro dominated the end-of-season awards with their coach Marcelo Oliveira claiming the manager of the year prize and four players making the championship's team of the season.

Goalkeeper Fabio, central defender Dede, and holding midfielder Nilton, all joined Ribeiro in the side.

Second-placed Atletico Paranaense, who lost the Brazilian Cup final to Flamengo on Wednesday, had three players in the team and striker Marcelo was named young player of the year.

The coaches and captains of Brazil's 20 first division sides voted, along with top journalists and members of the Brazil international squad who beat Honduras and Chile earlier this month.

Team of the season:
Fabio (Cruzeiro); Marcos Rocha (Altetico Mineiro), Dede (Cruzeiro), Manoel (Atletico Paranaense), Alex Telles (Gremio); Nilton (Cruzeiro), Elias (Flamengo), Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro), Paulo Baier (Atletico Paranaense); Walter (Goias), Ederson (Atletico Paranaense)

Manager of the year: Marcelo Oliveira (Cruzeiro)

Young player of the year: Marcelo (Atletico Paranaense)

Player of the year: Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro)[/article]

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/scouting-report-everton-ribeiro-player-2857880#ixzz2m7ijJUC0 ]The standout player for new Brazilian champions Cruzeiro, zippy attacking midfielder Everton Ribeiro is beginning to attract covetous glances from a number of European clubs. Liverpool have been linked with a January move, while the player himself has declared his admiration for Manchester United.

Background
Everton came through the ranks at Corinthians, impressing with his dribbling in the club's youth ranks. But with first-team opportunities few and far between, he was shipped out to São Caetano, a smaller club in the São Paulo state. There he caught the eye enough to earn a place in Brazil Under-20 side, going on to win the South American Championships in 2009.

But the attacker only really came to wider attention after being sold to Coritiba for around £400,000. There, under attack-minded coach Marcelo Oliveira (now his boss at Cruzeiro), he began to weave the kind of magic for which he is now known. Only this season, though, has he added consistency to his undoubted talent.

Style and strengths
Fleet of foot and sharp of mind, Everton is a menace running at defenders from his post on the right. He enjoys cutting inside onto his favoured left foot to pick out a through ball, darting forward for a one-two, or nipping in on goal to shoot. The results have often been spectacular: the 24-year-old has racked up 11 assists in this year's Brasileirão and scored plenty of scorchers to boot.

Weaknesses
Everton's slight physique means he can occasionally be bullied by more powerful opponents - even if he usually manages to get the last laugh with a flick or subtle pass. He also has very little defensive responsibility at Cruzeiro, meaning that he would likely take time to adapt to playing out wide for a European side.

How will he fit into a new team?
Intelligent and versatile, Everton is capable of playing in a number of attacking positions, and certainly has the raw talent to succeed in Europe. He would suit a pass-happy side (Arsenal?) and could inject a little spark into Manchester United's increasingly pedestrian midfield. Liverpool's interest has been widely reported, but it's hard to see where he'd fit into a side featuring Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.

Did you know?
Cruzeiro supporters hold Everton in very high regard. One sign at a recent game read: "Messi 10 + Ronaldo 7 = Everton Ribeiro 17". Time will tell if he can hit those heights.[/article]

Is this Moyes' way of getting back at Everton?
[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-everton-ribeiro-transfer-2899155#ixzz2mmNDouq6 ]Manchester United have opened talks with Brazilian midfielder Everton Ribeiro.

Cruzeiro star Ribeiro’s agent, Robson Ferreira, claims he has been to Manchester to discuss a move and that the champions' boss, David Moyes, is keen on the deal.

Ferreira said: “Manchester United want him. David Moyes has been impressed. I’ve already been to England and talked personally with them. In United’s opinion, he is the complete midfielder.”

Cruzeiro have insisted 24-year-old Ribeiro, is not for sale, but more than £15m could tempt them with United desperate to strengthen their midfield.[/article]
