The club have received an offer from West Ham for the forward, who made just 18 appearances - of which five were starts - all last season.
That is according to the Sun, who claim Liverpool are considering the sale despite shelling out £10.5m for the Italian back in 2012.
New Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is seeking forward recruits to boost his squad for next season and last week signed winger Dimitri Payet from Marseille.

Borini and fellow striker Rickie Lambert are expected to leave Anfield this summer, while Mario Balotelli has received more interest from Turkey in recent days.
