When you look at the other ownership groups out there, you have to be impressed with their work so far

- Really good manager appointed
- Bigger Stadium definitely happening
- New way of doing transfers
- younger, cheaper wage bill
- young talent coming through ranks
- classy successful management of suarez through two interesting but different summers.
- no more Joe Coles
- increased sponsorship
- returned us to CL
- Vibrancy and a desire to win trophies
- solid investment in team
- solid financial footing, not reckless, not prudently willing to spend,
- presided over fantastic finish last year

I'm not saying all is perfect, but they've done a lot, of good. Have I missed anything? Do you also feel fortunate to have them instead of another shades outfit, really makes the muppets look so bad.

Compared to most owners, they've done brilliantly, save for the odd isolated lapse of grace in earlier days. Not as much cash as some, but a wonderfully reassuring sense of cool judgement running through their reign. Classical prudence, executed with elegance. We struck lucky getting them.

They run the business without making it look like they're the star of the show

I like that

Doesn't make them less reptilian though

Really happy with them, it's nice that even though we've been bought by foreign businessmen, we don't seem to have lost any of the "soul" of the club, unlike Chelsea, City, QPR and to a much lesser extent, United.

Agreed, tho' in its own way this has also been a business decision - I reckon they're savvy enough to have twigged that that soul has been vital to what we've achieved before now, has kept our expectations high through a relatively barren quarter of a century and will continue to be vital in the future. They're business people first, last and always. Fortunately for us they seem to understand the real nature of what they're dealing with, hence also the best way to maximise this asset of theirs.

It's all good.

I still think they could be looking at selling us for a profit within am absolute maximum of ten years or so, I assume they're hoping to get us at the top or as close as they can at the same time individual clubs get their own tv rights for outside of the UK, (which I think is inevitable at some stage) & will use the massive potential for revenue to drive up the price, or at that point taking some of their investment back.

Either way they're investing, making prudent decisions & have to continue to back the manager & grow the club to get to whichever end game they have, so it's hard to complain.

This thread is far too positive for SCM standards.

You have all come under mind control of the reptilian overlords. Just the way they intended it.

Sheep.

Vikings go home!
That was your defence line bac then???

Haha. I am not arsed, i just dont like any owners.... who the hell owns a club? Clubs are for supporters and not owners... owners have never had any good influence on football. With them in place football stops being football and start being business...

I know, but it's a lot nicer these days, than the days of g and h

That seems to have been pretty much our defence until King Alfred the Great came along. Go Google him if you haven't already. 😛

As far as your second para.is concerned: I see where you're coming from, but it's a pretty pointless thing to keep harping on about. Rightly or wrongly the world's moved on and, given that it has, we could have done (in fact we did, for far too long) much worse than have FSG in charge.
