Getting Excited About Our 'Potential' New Line Up Yet ?

I'm started to get excited as to exactly what our 1st team will look like by the end of January, if the purported moves all transpire.

However, none of them seem to be addressing our DM problem ..... unless Kenny is planning something else entirely, So I'm not sure at all about Adam moving to us in the January window, even though I'd like him here, as I don't see how he's going to fit in with Miereles and Stevie shoe-ins for the those two slots.

On the Bench.
Gulasci, Aurelio, Skrtel, Cole (i'm not ready to give up on him yet - he can be a great player at times), Shelvey, Lucas (I don't think he'll leave in Summer - decent sub), Pacheco.

Gone (probably in Summer).
Poulson, Jovanovic, Aquilani, N'Gog, Spearing, Skrtel, Konchesky etc. and maybe even Johnson (hope he stays - still want to see him given a few games at RM and he strengthens the squad being able to play possibly 3 positions). Leaving us to get in a cracking CB and maybe LB in the Summer ?

True, but having a LB better than Konchesky in, & an actual left sided midfielder, will make a big difference to the balance of the side.

Young is the other realistic possibility on the left side.

Oops I must have missed that Downing link. That one doesn't excite at all.

Now that one does excite - but I fear with Suarez, Adam, N'Zogbia (or Warnock or whoever at LB), and whoever else, that Young will be too expensive for us.

If we get N'Zogbia I very much doubt they'd be in for Young too, and I for one would be quite happy with things that way round. I don't reckon Young is sufficiently better than N'Zogbia to justify the big price differential there would almost certainly be.

From the looks of it, N'zogbia's not going to come cheap either. Wigan are apparently holding out for 12 million.

That is cheap. Should we be setting out sights higher? Are we taking on "better than average" players because our expectations are so low? why aren't we buying proven, certain world class players? And yes I have not seen either of the two Charlies (NZOG and Adams) play..
