Makes his debut for North Queensland Fury tomorrow in the A-League.

It's NQY's first ever game, Fowler's been made captain, and they're managed by Ian Fergsuon, the ex-Rangers player. That's pretty much where the positives end. They're fucking shit by all accounts, have been humped by everyone in pre-season, have the worst squad in the A-League, have been tipped by everyone to finish in the bottom two, and of course... Robbie's not very fit.

Good luck to the Legend, he's gonna need it.

I bet he's got a nice pool in his house though.

The Glory start tonight. Wonder who will be the first to taste the wrath of Andy Todd?

You based in Perth Larry? I've gotta go there again in 2 weeks, and have yet to find a decent hotel. If you are there, you got any recommendations?

Yes, I am in Perth, live here although have never stayed in a hotel here.
There is a Holiday Inn City Centre, A Hilton, New Esplanade looks OK, Sullivans near Kings Park looks nice, The Duxton looks great, I’ve eaten there and it was top grub.
Can’t recommend one really as I’ve never used any. Google em, see which ones have indoor pools, gyms etc. I’m sure some of the ones I’ve mentioned do.
I take it you’ve stayed somewhere and hated it?

Will you by any chance be lining up against him on the pitch Ryan?
[/quote]

No chance, unless we play them in a friendly or something. A few mates have played against him, and a couple of guys I know have gone on trial with NQY as well.

We've played Melbourne Victory a few times in friendlies, but there's zero chance of playing against Fowler's lot unfortunately.

The hotels themselves aren't too bad, I've stayed in a few different ones. I always seem to get the area or location wrong though. The CBD's pretty shite from what I've experineced of it, and seems really quiet in the evenings, espeically midweek when I'm there.

I'll have another look.

The CBD is always dead. Northbridge is OK, plenty of bars and stuff there. Or try Freo and commute into the City.

Where's good for food in the evenings around Northbridge?

I went to Subi Pub (that right?) last time I was there, and it was pretty decent. Wouldn't mind finding a few other ok'ish joints.

No I'm English, I moved here 12 months ago.
Perth strikes me as a middle-aged place. It's great for kids and great for people my age (late 30's). I couldn't live here in my 20's, there's just not enough to do for people that age. I don't know if that's just Perth or Australia per se, but there must be a reason why London is full of Aussie kids.
But, for me, I love Perth. I have a couple of great locals (my late nights and clubbing it days are well gone, midnight in the pub does it for me), live near the beach, the weather is nearly always nice, my gf's family all live here (good and bad), I have a good job. So, Perth works.

Subi is not in Northbridge. I think you mean the Subiaco Hotel. Subi has some nice trendy bars and restaurants as does Leederville. The Oval is in Subi.
I haven't spent that much time in Northbridge, google it for bars etc. Subiaco, Leederville and Northbridge are walking distance from the City.

Good stuff.

To be honest, I've only been there a handful of times, and not seen an awful lot, so I'm probably being a bit harsh. I liked Freo, Northbridge was decent enough, and that's about all she wrote.

I wouldn't mind getting out and seeing a bit more, cos everytime I get stuck in some CBD hotel, I feel like ending the world.

You an AFL fan? I'm a Bombers fan, and they're playing Freo at Subi the day before I was supposed to arrive, so I might go a day early if I can get tickets.

I've been to see the Dockers 3 or 4 times, they got twatted each time. But then they only ever seem to win when they play the Eagles. You will get tickets, I don't think they sell out.

There's a Tri-Nations game on at Subi as well towards the end of this month although its a shit venue for Rugby. The Force are moving to where the Glory play for the start of next season.

There's a big Casino at Burswood if you're into tables and stuff. I'm not but it looks fairly good. There's 3 race tracks as well, my favourite is the Trotts where the horses pull the jockeys on little carts, its a great night out, dead cheap as well. It's right next to the WACA.

Yeah went to that Burswood complex last time. Nice place and all that, but there's some right fucking characters hanging out of it. I thought I was gonna get stabbed at one point.

We've well and truly hijacked the cunt out of this thread anyway. Actually, it's my thread, so what am I on about.

Go Fury!

The missus is form Perth.

The Brass Monkey is an excellent pub - foods pretty good to.

If I could make one reccommendation on a restaurant it would be Halo.

Not cheap, but one of the best restaurants I've been to in Australia.

Ryan - you have to take a trip to some wineries if you get the chance... There's a few out in the Swann Valley, which is only about an hour drive away that are worth visiting.

There's a James Squire Brewhouse opening soon or possibly just opened that would be worth a visit.

Right next to an Irish Pub - woopee!!

I reckon!!!

He totally kung-fu'd that guy!

He's just rescued his truly-garbage side a point with a bullet header with 5 mins left.

He's just scored a 2nd in their away game at the Gold Coast. 2-0 up.

He's slim, in great form, scoring goals, and plays every game with a huge smile on his face. Absolutely great to see.

It's great to see him enjoying life, scoring goals and, importantly, getting respect everywhere he goes.

A video of Fowler post-match against my local side, Brisbane.

My mate bought along his Liverpool top which has "Justice 96" on the back, so we were really hoping to get a hold of Fowler so he could sign it.

Was about to walk past, until he noticed what we were yelling at him 🙂
