There is little point in being upset about the likes of Hazard and Kagawa going to rivals. We never stood a chance of getting them anyway.

The encouraging thing is that it would seem that we are looking to get a manager who values attacking football and we don't have to shop from the top shelf to get the kind of attacking quality we need. We only need to look at recent examples of Suarez to Liverpool, Modric to Spurs and Falcao to A.Madrid to see that clubs out of the CL can get top players.

Someone mentioned Giovinco here the other day. He's had a great season for Parma.

Rossi was relegated with Villarreal and although he's suffered injuries, he's been fucking brilliant in Spain.

And there are loads more opportunities in the market. I really hope we find them this time.

I mentioned Giovinco in my thread. I really want us to look at Mertens, Costa, and Narsingh as well. We could also look at picking talent who aren't getting enough games at some clubs - like Sahin, Tello, El Sharaawy.

Then there's South America - and talents like Aquino, Ocampos, Oscar etc. (the ones not yet as hyped as Neymar or Moura) that we could target.

Belhanda, Strootman, Mertens, Sissoko, Doumbia, Capoue, Narsingh

Loads of players out there that we can sign.

Zola and Di Canio were brilliant in the PL though JJ, and Giovinco's a player in a similar mould. I reckon he'd be beastly here.

He played quite a bit with Milan ... Didn't do that well, but you can tell he's skillful

Jen Chang was singing the praises of Narsingh a few weeks ago and couldn't understand why there weren't more premiership teams in for him.
Maybe now as he is our communication maestro he will have a word with.....................

Fuck, I don't know who he would have a word with

Previously our communication director just minded his business. If this Jen Cheng fella comes in with his own view on what and who should be looked at on the football side....then i'm afraid this is going to end very badly for the new manager...

He's bound to have views - who wouldn't, with his background? The problem will only arise if he tries to push them in a way which blurs/undermines working relationships within the club, and I expect he'll be careful not to do that if, as reported, this is a dream job for him.

I get the feeling Hoilett will end up getting picked up by one of the big guns and will sit on the bench alot and go the same way others have before him. He'd be a good pickup for us.

Interesting thread.

Personally I'd love Rossi. Never understood why United let him go in the first place. If he's not career-threatening injured I'd love us to try and get him. Would love to score against United too.

Affellay is an cheap-ish option for the wing. De Jong at Twente will also be within our reach and IMO very good value for money in the £8-10M bracket.
