Looks like Johnny Heitinga is set to become the new Ajax manager.

Will be interesting to see if Pep returns for round 3.

There is talk of this guy (cant remember his name) who is coaching in Ukraine & was part of Slots backroom staff at Feyenoord. Could be the most likely replacement.

We should approach Arsenal to take Arteta back to his sweet spot as an assistant manager, putting the cones out for Arne

He was a good addition to our backroom staff, but I don't think it makes much difference in the long run. Slot will get in just as good or better replacement.

Yeah?, I think backroom staff is important but feels they are always one of the replaceable parts of the team and there is always an expectstion they would move onto no 2 postions elsewhere.

Hulshoff is definitely more important than Heitinga is, having been with Slot at Cambuur and Feyenoord.

Sipke Hulshoff is Liverpool’s clipboard-wielding ‘field coach’ – and vital for Slot

Marino Pusic.

Arne Slot's former assistant REJECTS chance to join his Anfield staff as new manager's brother reveals how he was coaching 'top level stuff' at just 14!

I was Arne Slot’s assistant - don’t expect him to be like Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool
What Liverpool fans should expect from Arne Slot – according to the man who knows him best

Time to let Milner sneak back in via his door no as a coach.
He was out most of the season with an injury, read something that the surgery went wrong and he couldn't move his foot and was lucky to gain full mobility. Now looks like he's about to sign an extension with Brighton and play for another year. He's chasing Gareth Barry for most appearances. So he'll not be back for at least a year.

Assistant managers and the like can be very important in a club's management structure and we've learned that the hard way more than once before. For example GH wasn't the same after Patrice Bergues left, ditto Rafa after he fell out with Pako Ayestaran.

That said, this guy doesn't seem to have been as high in the pecking order as those two were, so hopefully hakuna matata.

Is anyone really pissed about Pep going to City - I mean, wasn’t the site consensus that he was a chancer that talked a lot of shite that we weren’t unhappy to see the back of and were so delighted he failed at Salzburg we had a thread regularly updated for us to gloat over?

Shouldn’t that mean we’re happy he’s going to City?

It actually feels like Digshagger Pep misses Klopp that much he needed to get his former assistant to try and fill the hole Klopp left in his life.

For the record, I think he’s a good coach, but couldn’t give two flying fucks where he works.

If that's the site consensus I don't share it, not 100% anyway. I also reckon Lijnders is a good coach (gkmacca late of this parish who had his finger on the pulse of the club rates him highly). His problems arose from wanting to be in the spotlight in his own right, for which he's not suited. If his move to Citeh shows that he's finally accepted that, he could do well for them, but like you I don't have a problem with him going there.
