So has anyone impressed you so far from the "not so famous" players?

Personally:

Yevhen Konoplyanka
Andriy Yarmolenko
Václav Pilař
Theodor Gebre Selassie

Jetro Willems - He hasn't really been that good but he's only 18, and the potential is clearly there. Needs to work on his positioning and decision making. It usually comes with experience.

Don't wanna create a new thread so i'll just throw it in here. This is my team of the tournament so far:

--------------------------------------Neuer--------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---Debuchy-------Boateng---------Hummels-------Lahm------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------Pirlo-------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------Dzagoev---------------------------
--Blaszczykowski---------------------------------------Pilar--------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------Gomez--------Mandzukic-----------------------

8 of them will be playing in the Bundesliga next season.

Inter just had a bid for Debuchy rejected yesterday. Always looked like an interesting player when playing club football with Lille. Luck's on his side too, given Sagna's injury.

I have a feeling that by the time this tournament ends there will be about 4-5 Spaniards in the team.
Xavi and Iniesta are the prominenet candidates but I can also see the likes of Silva, Alonso and Torres there.

Pilar and Dzagoev are two who i had not noticed before the Euros who impressed me so far.

Felix Magath has already bought Pilar for 1m...One feckin' million?! And it wasn't like he was vastly unknown, he was playing in the Champions League against Barca and AC Milan this season.

Looks like a real bargain. The same Magath who made a €28m profit on Dzeko.

Been looking for a thread like this, there's been a few impressive relative unknowns, Willems funnily was one of the ones I was going to mention, you can see the talent there, and Pilar is a given, shame he's moved.

Was reading an article with Moyes this morning though, which I found amusing. Headlined "David Moyes pick of the tournament so far"..... for some reason I eagerly clicked on the link out of interest, to see who Gollum had his eye on. Expecting a great unknown, akin to his usual ability to pick up a bargain. Who did he go for?

Christiano Ronaldo. Out on a limb there.

Just said in the match thread, Balzaretti has been very good tonight.

The players mentioned have been very good. Mandzukic, Obraniak, Perquis, Joao Pereira and Debuchy have impressed aswell.

Althought most have heard him, thought miguel velueso has been pretty decent. His left peg could compliment Lucas quite well

He seems to have never reached the potential everyone was going on about while he was at Sporting ... but he's had a good tourney, and definitely a decent player.

I've quite liked the look of Mandzukic over the past 10 days, he's looked decent enough.

Who does he play for at club level?

Amazed of the ammount of posters knowing Krohn-Dehli on beforehand on here.

*wink*

I like the look of Konoyaplanka-something. Like Marchioso in Italy's midfield too.

Veloso has looked good as well.

I thought he did really well, showed a lot of hard work and commitment and scored a great goal against the Netherlands. Then I googled him and noticed he's 29 and plays for Brondby. How come?

I've known about Krohn-Dehli since his Ajax days. But he never really made it there. Sure he scored two goals in the tournament, but I wasn't really impressed with him.

He never made in Holland when he first moved to Ajax as a youngster and eventually he went back home to a rather decimated Brøndby team. After a Season or two he then started to find his feet again (although Brøndby still haven't) and now he's kind of peaking and will probably go back to Holland to make amends.

Not a player for us, but I'm happy for him as he's a good lad who hasn't exactly rode his luck career-wise so far.

The thing is he actually played quite well overall mate, rarely lost possession and was part of and sometimes even key to the Danish attack. Scored two nice goals, created a clever assist too against arguably some of the best teams in Europe.

be interesting to name the players you expected to do well who had stinkers like Eriksen

if you are willing to answer?

Ashley Young is another, had high hopes for him and he has been terrible
The reason why I asked was that I'm not sure what question was asked?

I thought Eriksen would've had a better tournament obviously, but he did his best to keep his prize down so Rodgers can come and get him.

Just like Bentner has been doing for years
