He has been walking virtually trouble free since his injury, due to go under the surgeons knife this week. It's a clean tear, no damage to the surrounding muscles or tissue in the knee. Hopefully should be back alot sooner than expected.

What a great character he sounds:

He said: “The only way I can get in his thoughts and show him what a good professional I am is the way I am in the gym or by being positive around the lads.

“Sometimes negativity can rub off on players and I don’t want to affect their performance. When you are injured you have to keep a positive mindset and keep moving forward.

“There will be a few down days when I am not feeling myself and I am gutted I cannot be out with the team. But I am trying to stay as positive as I can be.”

I like him as if he was a home grown player (Liverpool).
Hope he recovers.
We'll definitely need him over the coming seasons considering the workload expected of the strikers.

My mate was telling me the players have been leaving training at 6pm, where it used to be around 2.

Any reason to suspect Klopp might be going a bit hard on them? I don't mean they shouldn't train hard, but too much too soon perhaps.

It depends how the training is scheduled I guess. We could be putting in the same amount of work over a longer session. It might include more tactical analysis, etc.

Not surprised with the late finishes as JK has no mid-season break and games are coming thick and fast

If he wants all this extra distance covered then they're gonna have to get a lot fitter, so I'd guess it's loads of hiit for the sprints and other cardio. I'm sure they all know what they're doing but we have had a lot of injuries this week.

Yeah, to be fair though our three major injuries were sustained on international duty. Its only really Sturridge, who could get injured anywhere.

The blame for that can be well apportioned. We rarely looked particulalry fit under Rodgers.

Any increase in intensity is bound to come with added injury risks. But I think we need to take that risk

Top lad and can become a top player. Will be like a new signing when he returns. Oh he was a new signing. Oh well. Onward and upward Danny boy.

Danny Ings is great.

Loved this bit, "The only way I can get in his thoughts and show him what a good professional I am is the way I am in the gym or by being positive around the lads."

I hope he returns to action before the season is out and has a future here.

Depends what the training entails right? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it is video analysis/ tactics. Given he is so new he'll have to make his philosophy clear very quickly and with EL games and Euro qualifiers he doesnt get that many days to just sit and talk to the players.

He uses that lactic acid measuring thing that Rafa used. It tells them exactly how long players take to recover full muscle fitness so they don't ask players to sprint when their muscles are vulnerable. In theory anyway, I don't know whether it works or not, although the science certainly seems sound.

As such, like Rafa when he first arrived, I expect this first spell with us to see a LOT of knackered players whilst he keeps hammering them to increase their overall fitness & find out each player's sweet spot in terms of fitness & recovery.

Is Klopps use of this well documented or something?
Not afaik, I've read it twice mentioned in passing in articles the week he joined. One was translated from German, the other a UK press article talking about training, both simply referred to it as opposed to going into detail. However I remember much being made of it when Rafa introduced it.

I don't think it's even remotely uncommon, & a lot a sports use it in similar ways.

Perhaps there's more on Klopp's use of it out there, I daresay there must have been tonnes of German articles dissecting his methods when Dortmund were so successful.

Ings is very much a classic Liverpool type of striker in the Kenny Dalglish mode. No languid goal-hanger he! He constantly tackles back and plays a full part in the build-up.

I see where you are coming from, but on the other hand he sounds like the sort ass-licker who would quickly get on your nerves. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other players intentionally went in hard on his knee.
