Does anyone know if clubs buy insurance against their players? I mean if you're spending £20m on equipment you would get cover, so wouldn't that be the same with players.

Are you planning on doing an insurance job on a few?
The reason why I ask is either the payout is not no way near market value or the monthly payments are high. If we buy someone like VVD for the reported £50m, who has an injury record the premiums must be through the roof. I would hazard a guess it's in the millions
Footy players insurance is relatively expensive.
I've read before that went through this, the club pay for insurance against permanent injury, whereby the club get the players pre injury valuation paid out. Medical bills resulting from injury are included. It also includes X number of years salary compensation for the player. It doesn't necessarily equate to the number of years contracted, & the terms of this insurance policy are included in contract negotiations.
This has been popular for a long time. In fact, every Asian I've ever played golf with is covered this way.
I was going to say the same thing, that it's quite common isn't it?
How does it work though.
Is it for permanent/career ending injuries or can it be applied for players that may be out for an entire season, for example.
