January inflation

I thought the Torres/Carroll fees were just typical overpriced deals in the January window, but judging by the Henderson and Jones transfers, it seems that overpaying on players is continuing into this window. Are we the culprits here? And what does it spell for the rest of our transfer activity? If we've spent £20m on Henderson, other prospective sellers are going to see us coming and hike up the prices on the assumption we'll pay.

Seems we've dipped our toes in the waters that Chelsea and City currently occupy.

As encouraging as it may be, I hope henderson's not meant as one of the "marquee/harrods" signings.

I'd hope not and I doubt it, mainly because he plays in a position that was of lesser priority, given we're still linked with Adam aswell.

Interesting and probably baffling times ahead me thinks.

English players value has gone up about a 3rd due to the quota thingy. Daft but true.

True yeah, I'd forgot that would have an impact.

We've sold Torres and Ngog and gotten Carroll and Henderson.
And are 2 million in profit when all the add ons are paid out.

Inflated or not, great piece of business imho.

Re: Re: January inflation

I'm worried both could just have had 1 good season, and that's it. Can't wait for the season to start
