Plenty of people have been skeptical for a long time regarding everything to do with Slot.

The only people who can say "I told you so" are the cunts. If you get satisfaction while we are losing because you think it proves you had some great understanding of something then you're being a cunt.

I would like Slot to turn this around. I don't think he will. I'd love to be wrong.

We are doing now the sort of grim thing we should have been doing at the beginning of the year, before we fucked the confidence of the entire team: trying to find some fundamental structural stability in the side. When your team gets utterly exposed the way ours has been, you need to start with those basics and then rebuild into having more ideas, it doesn't just all happen at once.

My expectations couldn't be much lower for this team. Yours should be too for a little bit. The problem is there's not going to be much patience for all that, in part because Slot has mostly had us playing fairly boring football even when we had a clue.

Those people would be annoying too, but I don't think that there are many here who ignored the problems. Everyone could see the problems. But there actually were potential explanations for them, rather than it definitely being down to the manager.

Dropping Salah while refusing to play Chiesa (+ persisting with Gakpo) makes it feel less like a tactical decision and more like Slot wanting to prove he “has the guts” to bench a star player and ignore fan pressure, rather than him actually having a clear plan.

How did we go from winning the league easily to losing the dressing room talk in just a few months?

The only thing that seems clear is that Slot looks rigid in his tactical outlook.

He's trying to play a certain way, but this team can't do it. It's possible the players realize they can't do it.

A decent manager recognises this before the players do, and makes adjustments to suit everyone. Slot appears to be doing the same thing game after game.

That's what made Klopp such a legendary manager— even in our worst season, back during the COVID days with players like Nat Phillips and others, Klopp would adjust and make (subtle compromises) changes that helped get us over the line.

It doesnt matter who Slot picks its the fact that tactically were doiung the same ineffective patterns of play over and over again. that needs to change, maybe more so than the players.

He's not but Its more than that. Slot didnt have to try to be the conductor of the kop like klopp, but one of the managers believes in magic and the other doesn't.

Everyone loves chiesa, he produces moments, he's probably the only thing anyone will remember fondly from this season. There's been a real energy and belief about chiesa coming on and he's something new, not old. Not only has slot not used all of that, at all, not only does he seems to be willfully ignorant of it, he's actively worked to kill it.
