No sure if this is just the normal speculative bull (they even got his transfer date to Liverpool wrong)but do you think this would be a good move for young David. Personally, if he is to go out on loan I would prefer it were to a premiership team, perhaps one of the new boys.

Roy Keane is planning to take Liverpool striker David Ngog on a season-long loan to Ipswich. The French starlet has failed to establish himself at Anfield since making the move to Merseyside in the summer of 2007 and played a bit-part role in his debut Premier League season. Reds boss Rafa Benitez wants the forward to gain some first-team experience with Ipswich ready to offer Ngog the chance of regular Championship football.

Town boss Keane is desperate to bolster his striking options and sent coach Brian Klug to watch Ngog in the Toulon tournament.

And Ipswich are hoping to wrap up a deal for Ngog once the player returns home next week.

I'd be game for that, I'd only want him there for the first half of the season or less though.

It can't really do any harm, I'd rather him start in the championship than be on the bench and get 20 minutes a month for Hull or whoever.

If he does go out on loan, that will make it all the more important that we either sign a back-up striker or promote one from the rezzies.

I agree with the count. If we're to loan him out then it should be to someone in the Premier League. Otherwise we're not really learning anything about his ability to make it here.

I'd be very surprised if Rafa loaned him out though.

If we can negotiate a clause to recall him at our choosing then fine
[/quote]

Yes, the recall point is important, but I'm all for first team players PLAYING instead of sitting on the bench.

I think it'd be a decent move if nothing better becomes available. He's better off playing games in the Championship then sitting on our bench and playing the odd reserves game.

So we loan him out, what options does that leave us if Torres is injured, sorry not for me, a good option from the bench.

Ipswich have a very good record with young players. The Championship will toughen him up.

There is much more chance to practice/improve his finishing playing for Ipswich than a premier league newcomer that will be lucky to get off 4-5 shots a game.

And if he managed to make the most of his limited opportunities at a smaller club in this league he will have proved himself worthy of persisting with. Scoring a hatful of goals in the Championship would prove very little indeed.

Perhaps. I guess I can see benefits both ways.
