Guardian (Andy Hunter) saying Lucas and Sakho could be off.
Do we have a plan then? Which CB and DM are we gonna replace them with?

To much tinkering with the squad if we have to get 2 new players in aswell. Selling Sakho is a bit mad to say the least.

If we sell Sakho without replacing him it's absolutely mental.
Especially as Toure looks like he's been going for pints and curries with Gemma Collins all summer.

What does that make Lovren and Skrtel then?

He's definitely better than Lovren, and I know I'm in the minority probably here, but I think he's better than Skrtel. He certainly has the potential to play at a higher standard than Skrtel has played for us.

I'm guessing when Sakho was told by the chancer that he'd be behind Lovren in the pecking order he was so shocked and angry that he called him a slimy midget fuckwit or some such and now has to suffer banishment as a result.

Neither of them would be any real loss. Both seem like good guys but neither of them are good enough. In saying that, I'd like to think we have replacements lined up for both of them but I doubt we have.

EDIT: I'm firmly in the Lovren is shit camp. But Sakho is average and injury prone, so he may as well be shit.

As ever.... the issue is not do we sell, but who do we replace with?

Although.... if Sakho goes, we might be able to promote someone from the reserves.... Which could open up a chance for Illori to finally play for the reserves!!!!!!

Cant' see Sakho going anywhere, but yeah Lucas will probably do one. Even if he does go, I can't see Rodgers going for a DM. Hopefully get balotelli, borini and enrique out the door too, for real money not loans.

It's strange though that Roma would approach us to loan Sakho - I suspect they've perhaps sounded out his agent to see what he thinks about a change of scenery and received a positive response before talking to the club about it. I suppose every club does that, and in this case, perhaps Rodgers hasn't been impressed by Sakho's response to being second fiddle to Lovren.

Having Ilori and Toure as our back up CBs arent they way forward this season imho.
We cant sell Sakho.

Lucas will probably go. Rodgers hasnt bought an out and out DM in his time here so the chances are small that he'll do that now.
Signing Illaramendi would be a great start mind.

[article=http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/wba-albion-saido-berahino-tottenham-hotspur-2629078.aspx#pIz8mJ5mC1lcj8cd.99]WEST Bromwich Albion have today rejected an offer for Saido Berahino from Tottenham Hotspur.

Chairman Jeremy Peace commented: “We have no interest in selling Saido which is what I have told Daniel Levy.

“I know we are living in an age where no club can say ‘never’ about the possibility of selling a player.

“However, the prospect of selling Saido is simply not on our agenda.

“We are going forward with Saido very much in our plans and still striving to add players to improve the balance of our squad.”[/article]

They've already got 4 other forwards - Rondon, Lambert added this summer to last season's (failed) acquisition Ideye and Anichebe. Assuming they cut their losses on Ideye, that still leaves them with 3 guys + Berahino. Given that they don't have Europe, and don't have domestic cup ambitions, that still seems one more than they would need. Not surprising that Spurs are the ones going for him, and it'll probably close at a few million more for Pulis to add more boring players to a boring team.
