-Goalkeeper Adrian out, still serving ban for red card against Jamie Vardy.

-No fit strikers and Sakho just arrested for threatening to kill his girlfriend. Carroll out injured (knee), Valencia out with a knee injury he suffered in pre-season, Zarate out with an injured hamstring, Maiga just sold to a Saudi Arabian club (lulz)

-The last time West Ham won at Anfield was 1963.

Liverpool should batter these

cheers

I think it'll be typical West Ham, where we've fallen short against them recently (not often and only at their place) is by being out battled by them, we look up for a fight now. I'd go with the same lineup, with maybe Hendo back in for either Can or Lucas (which is harsh tbf).

I said it in another thread, but I hope we don't lower our level against these as is our wont. We have this knack of raising/lowering our game to match the opposition - as we did against Arsenal and Bournemouth. We need to start showing consistency. Same level of performance as that first half against Arsenal please.

Sounds like a defeat for us coming up then.

A win here to make it ten points out of a possible twelve would be outstanding especially as we go to Old Trafford the week after.

International break after West Ham just to fuck up our momentum.
I fucking hate international football.

Agreed - it needs to fuck off. I might actually be interested in the WC if there wasn't a Euros every other 4 years. If they insist on both i'd much rather they used the slot for the Euros (and other continental tourneys) to run the full qualifying process in that gap meaning that we don't need breaks throughout the season every year. Such a pain.

Yup.
Why weren't these set of fixtures played in July or August instead of September and October.
It's ridiculous to think that South American players have to travel thousands of miles to play a pointless friendly just as they are getting settled in.

Sakho has a thigh strain aswell as being arrested.
West Ham havent got a fit striker in the squad.

But that doesnt matter. We need to turn up and want this.
Confidence should be high an hopefullly we just come firing out of the blocks

We're solid at the back and have a serious threat in Benteke. Can't see us conceding, and after seeing us take arsenal apart Lord knows how many times in the first half the other night, we should pan West Ham.

Sequences are made to be broken, so a fluke goal to West Ham (deflection, keeper error or penalty), however we'll have far too much for them in attack.

3-1 or 4-1.

They won't arrive with any fear having already done Arsenal this year. Its a bonus Adrian is out who looks a smart keeper to me and Payet has started the season very well and looks a quality member of their squad. Given the fixtures we've got coming up its vital we get the 3 points from this and keep some momentum going.

I'd go two up top for this. Give Ings a run out alongside Benteke and see if he can snaffle some chances out of those knock-downs.

This is the banana skin we as Liverpool fans are used to.

Great team performance against arse and then drop points at home.

I don't know if Firmino will start in that game. He's playing for Brazil in the international friendly in the US 4 days before that. Long-distance round trip and shit.

Thank goodness Coutinho isn't good enough for Dunga.

Bloody internationals FFS. Then it's going to be Ings or Ibe to replace him I'd venture. If Hendo's fit he comes in for Can or Lucas (depending on BR's tactics for this game), I can see him giving a spot to Can TBH.

Where is the game being played ? It's only 10 hrs round trip from Manchester to New York. Hardly much jet-lag from 5 hrs each way.

Firmino should play up top with Benteke.

We really need to start gelling attacking wise. We've shown we've got some steel about us, but we need to be able to start breaking teams down if we need to consolidate on this great start.

7.5 there and 6.5 back.

Ive done it 5 times in the past 3 years.

Not to be pedantic like.

Gilette Stadium, Foxborough in Massachusetts. So maybe not as bad, like you said. He'll probably twist an ankle or sprain his neck on international duty then.

Nothing wrong with pedantry when it equals accuracy !

My daughter's off to NY this weekend for a long weekend (via a night in Dublin) and I thought she told me it was 5 hrs (from London), I must be wrong or getting it mixed up with NY to Iceland.

Nah the same from London, Ive also been via Heathrow 🙂

Hope she enjoys her trip!

West Ham's fullbacks were beyond terrible this past weekend, Jenkinson and Cresswell were both truly awful. If it's Ogbonna and Reid in the center that's actually a pretty good pairing but Liverpool should be able to get at their fullbacks.

Didn't Jenkinson get a Red and is out of our game anyway ?
