Apparently stories are appearing in the Italian media saying we're interested.
Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has reacted angrily to media speculation citing him as a makeweight in a deal for Liverpool’s Raul Meireles.
Meireles, whose form at Anfield improved greatly after Kenny Dalglish’s appointment as boss midway through last season, has only been on Merseyside a year. However, he has been strongly linked with Juve as reports continue apace that the Reds will try and secure a deal for Blackpool talisman Charlie Adam.
Reds fans would not like to lose the Portugal star, but it has been reported that Juventus have been told £13million will prise the player – who cost Liverpool £10m – away. And Brazilian international Melo has been mooted as the subject of a player-plus-cash deal for Meireles.
This does not meet with the defensive midfielder’s pleasure, with the Daily Mirror quoting him as having said: "Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get.
"I'm not just anyone. I'm not a bargaining chip to be used."
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Melo.
