If its true that we're getting dempsey, then as much as i'm underwhelmed by it the good news would mean that downing is either leaving or gonna be on the bench. We all know that BR wants his width from his fullbacks, so i'm guessing we are gonna look something like this:

I can see now why he wanted Gylfi. As he's a box to box player who scores goals from midfield. But even in this lineup we all of a sudden have at least 4 players (suarez, dempsey, borini and gerrard) who can score goals which is a huge improvement on last season. Also all three of the front 3 have played as main striker, on the left, on the right and behind the main striker, which means they could easily interchange within the game pulling defenders apart and creating space. Of course this is all theory and they could end up getting in each others way and stinking the pitch out lol.

He doesn't want any wide players. He wants the width to come from the fullbacks. Until we get good at this system i can see us drawing a lot of games trying to go through the middle too much. We'll be like arsenal in a way without a plan b trying to pass the ball in the net.
