Some decent games today. Spurs have somehow been a thorn in city's side for a few years now, so there's a bit of hope there, and West Ham Vs Newcastle looks an entertaining game on paper.

I was reading an interesting piece on Trippier's positive effect on the team (not just his performances but influence), since he's now out (potentially for the rest of the season) there's still hope that Newcastle could be relegated, though there are clearly 3 worse teams below them despite Norwich's recent upturn in form.

Makes sense. I don't know what he was like at Spurs, but working under Simeone is enough to make a man and a leader out of anyone. Unfortunately they seem to have turned it around, but they'll miss his goals and set pieces so there's a glimmer of hope.

West Ham United: Fabianski, Fredericks, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell, Soucek, Rice, Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals, Antonio.
Subs: Yarmolenko, Vlasic, Areola, Noble, Diop, Johnson, Kral, Alese, Chesters.

Newcastle United: Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett, Willock, Shelvey, Joelinton, Fraser, Wood, Murphy.
Subs: Dummett, Lascelles, Fernandez, Almiron, Darlow, Gayle, Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes, De Bolle.

Talking of which, was Pep having a dig when he said "we always get a nice welcome in Liverpool" when talking about the plane redirecting? My mind's eye immediately saw bottles whistling through the air towards the Man City coach. Great times.

That Newcastle midfield, it's shite and they don't have that fella playing today. Can't to remember his name, but he's a mad cunt. Can take on a whole team, blazing pace but has a touch of the Garcia's about him in terms of consistency.

Why are they booing Zouma, surely it would be better with a meeeooooowww every time he has the ball..

Suarez just did this..pretending he’s playing Norwich.

Love how he doesn’t waste time on taking a touch - just angles his run to the trajectory of the ball and hits it first time. I wish Salah, Mane and Jota learned this technique from Luis; a lot of times the extra touch is unnecessary.
