Ball played in for Origi who does a flick which dropped slightly behind Solanke. He picked it up, turned and hit a low hard shot slightly outside the box. Keeper no chance.

That was very dumb by Origi. Fucked up a great counter attack

Salah looks very good. Mane, Salah and Coutinho are going to scare the shit out of a lot of defences

It's a shame that coutinho , even in pre season makes the team look infinitely fucking better.

Firmino looks a bit portly ,Solanke took his goal very well and looked good, salah looked lively- his pace alone will frighten many a premier league defender this season ( god help them when coutinho ,Mane and Salah are all together ) Henderson sprayed the ball around excellently, Trent was pretty good , got forwards at every possible point , think he could learn a bit off Clyde but there is so much he just seems instinctively better at. Kent was rapid and would've had a bigger impact had Divvy engaged his brain on a few occasions. Woodburn was probably the stand out for me, pass and move game was on point and made some incisive passes on a few occasions , Very good

Meh at set pieces still , in the first half sturridge was the first man on a few , which is just retarded , pre season or not .

All that said the conditions looked brutal so props to the majority of the redmen

I find the use of Woodburn as a CM in the pre-season games so far rather odd. Not that he's been playing badly, mind. Just not sure if Klopp's playing him outside his comfort zone to help in his development, or if he doesn't think he'll make a good striker at this level.

Add to that the fact that the first team chances he's had so far have been out wide, and you do have to wonder.

I could explain that off as perhaps Klopp wanting him to play up front, but not in the centre, at his age and slight stature back then, against towering centrebacks who'd kick the shit out of him. I think there was a game when he was up against Shawcross or someone like that and he struggled because of his lack of build. He did still make a fool of the fella a couple of times with his pace and trickery.

Moving him back to CM - and even at times against Wigan - the deep CM role, is just odd. Wonder if Klopp's still figuring out what Woodburn's best position is at this level. Certainly hope he gives him a chance to show what he can do as a striker.

Very Kane-esque goal from Solanke.

I hope he gets minutes to develop this year. Long term, I think he will be a better goalscorer and player than Firmino and Origi. He's gone under the radar, but I think the fact he and Origi are supposedly "hot prospects" is the main reason why we are not signing a CF this year. Plus the fact the Studge is still about. That's enough coverage if everyone stays fit (lolz).

I don't mind that, as long as he's given minutes to develop (and we sign our other targets).

When Kane was 19, he got 19 games and scored 4 goals. Solanke should get around that same amount (of games) this year too.
