On paper it should be easy, but they gave Arsenal a torrid opening fixture and will smell blood as we come in on the back of three defeats.

Some tricky squad selections. Who knows what we’ll see - I’ll do my predicted team and my preferred team.

Predicted:
Marma

Bradley
Gravy
Virgil
Kerkez

Szobo
Macca
Wirtz

Salah
Isak
Gakpo

Preferred (ignoring the obvious situation that our squad is optimised for 442)

Marma

Frimpong
Gomez
Virgil
Kerkez

Gravy
Macca
Szobo

Salah
Isak
Ekitike

I think Ekitike is needed on the pitch as he’s playing really well. Not sure id open with Wirtz as we need to be solid. But open to Wirtz for Macca.

hope macca is back, as he can help with moving the ball, taking some pressure off grav
if not, jones

if Ibou is out, Joe has to come in

In recent years I’ve been psyched to the max for these games and, generally, been left disappointed.

This time around I’m back to the sickening feeling of knowing we are getting to get a humping.

Draw at best

We’re absolutely fucking shite and we’re getting comprehensively beat, but it’s alright because we’ll still be “only 4 points behind the leaders” and the same old shite will be pedalled out week after week until you lemons get it through your thick skulls we won’t be winning shit this season.

Slot will start Isak. This is a non-story.

Macca on the bench due to travel and form.

-------------------------- Mama

Bradley ------ Gomez ------------ Virgil --------- Kerkez

-------------------------- Gravy

------------ Szobo
---------------------------Wirtz

Salah ------------------- Isak -----------------Gakpo

Frimpong, Robbo, Macca, Jones and Ekitke will come on.

If memory serves, United turned up against us last season. Their midfield outperformed ours, both on and off the ball, and Trent got targeted repeatedly and couldn't be arsed to try and meet it.

If we put in a typically lethargic post-international break performance, on top of some already shaky form and results, then all results will be possible. Pleasingly, some of our players appear to have found some form this week, so hopefully they can carry it over.

Even at their place they started high intensity against us and only when we scored they went to shit. At home they did the same and because they scored that gave them the confidence to keep on going. The same will happen this week so we need to be on it from the first minute. The fact it’s not happened this season (apart from Atletico and Everton) I’m not expecting it on Sunday.

They always play well for their national teams.
My only hope is that playing in front of a home crowd will reverse the current trend.

They always turn up against us. Too many in that squad are Big Time Charlies who please themselves whether or not to bother, but they always bother for the Liverpool game. At our best we should definitely win, but we'll need to ensure we *are* fully firing.

They always overperform against us. At a time, when we are shakier than last year. Hard to know.

Holland boss Ronald Koeman later revealed the Reds midfielder had been substituted for Manchester City's Tijjani Reijnders due to a muscle issue, and said: "Ryan indicated he had some minor hamstring problems. Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that."

They are shite against everyone else. They had their best game against us last season.

I can see a draw if not a defeat here.

Tbf they were shite when we went there and the only reason they got a draw at Anfield is because we were playing with 9 men. The scousers in the side then weren't even fit enough to lace up a Utd pair of boots. Keep Jones away from the squad and we might nick a draw.
