I'd be tempted to unleash carvalho but otherwise same team that started the weekend.

Badly need the win so would like to see us go for the jugular rather than the training session Rondo's we've become very adept at against low-block sides in recent matches

I agree it should be the same team. No travel and an extra day rest. Get 4-0 up and try and rotate where possible to save legs for the derby.

Good news if this is the case still on wedneday

Following that game, it seems that Newcastle could be without some key players for the clash at Anfield. Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are all doubts for the match, while there is another more serious injury.

Yeah, seems like all 3 are out and Trippier could be a doubt as well after getting what seemed like a hamstring strain.

Where is that from? Klopp said last week he might be back soon, not another few weeks.
Press conference for Newcastle isnt until tomorrow.

Express, and cause its Thiago, you add another two weeks
Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara has arguably been the biggest miss in Liverpool's midfield so far. The Spaniard often sets the tempo for Klopp's side in midfield, providing a calming presence while also picking out passes no other midfielder can find.
He wasn't expected to be back until the middle of September, but Klopp has said he is "not too far away" from returning.

Yes absolutely, and also we want the same number of goals, if not then 10+ will do.
The 9-0 thrashing are great and very rare, I hope we have a 7-0 and 6-0 thrashing of somebody, but Newcastle won't be one of those. I'm happy with a win

Liverpool could be playing Newcastle at an ideal time on Wednesday evening, with the Magpies also decimated by injuries ahead of their trip to Anfield.
The Reds blew Bournemouth away on Saturday, winning 9-0 and matching the record for the biggest Premier League win, but a tougher assignment awaits next.

Jurgen Klopp‘s men host newly-wealthy Newcastle on Wednesday evening, with the visitors unbeaten in their opening four league games in 2022/23, winning once and drawing three times.
With kickoff almost upon us, we spoke to Newcastle fan and writer Dave Black (@cm9798) to get the lowdown on the Magpies, assess Liverpool’s season so far and discuss the midweek clash. (See link above)

This is a great opportunity to get 3 points in a tie that only yielded 1 point for City (albeit we are home and they were away). This will probably be the most weakened their team will be all season, we couldn't ask for more going into this one.

I'd have Tsimikas start this one, but no other changes from the team that played Bournemouth.

Don't be daft.

We'll all be seeing those grinning white teeth of Fun Bobby at least a few times on Wed.

As for scores though.....hmm..i'm no longer a betting man, but i'd be tempted for a 3-0 or 4-1 scoreline.

I was interested to see what the Makkas are thinking prior to KO :

Possibly Bruno, Tripps, ASM all out, Wilson defo out. Woods likely start ahead of Isak. Fair to say I’m not confident.

Fear this going to be brutal

Just starting to get their eye in, these are better than us , we are proving difficult to beat but I think we can compete at least. Can’t see much better than 2-0 I’m afraid though.

Feel like this will be the game our unbeaten start comes to an end.

Too early to say but we had Maxi and Trips looking uncomfortable today. Fingers crossed, because that would be our four most important players missing.
I'm not prepared to concede defeat, as I'm sure Howe will work out our best opportunity to get something.

There's goals for us, Trent is a liability and their midfield is decimated. Just depends whether the front lads have an off day for them or not as to whether we get anything.

Wood is more of a target man to aim for on the break, Isak doesn't seem that type of player. Like it or not, we won't see much of the ball in this fixture and will be penned back into our own half for much of this. Give Isak a decent 30 minute cameo and start him for the next home match.

Terrible time to be playing this lot. No Bruno, No Wilson, Tripper potentially out, ASM potentially out. Only saving grace is that they have their own injury troubles but that didn't stop them scoring 9 so perhaps they aren't really troubles at all.

It is disappointing, but I’d much rather be putting out a weakened team away to Liverpool (or Man City) than to anybody else. For example, would be gutted to be understrength home or away to to Man Utd or, to a lesser degree, Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal. Particularly at home. Everything points towards us looking forward to an exciting season where we can consistently compete and genuinely have a chance of beating anyone.

Are Trippier and ASM even confirmed as doubts (I know they were both hobbling about at times), or is it a case of Doom-Online again? ASM certainly wasn't talking like someone who would miss the game midweek in his post-match interview.

It really feels like people are desperate to fear the worst, as if we're still under the oppression of Ashley and Bruce. We're a different animal now, I'm confident that regardless of who's out we'll put in a good account of ourselves. 5-0 Liverpool.

Trippier in the training pictures but no ASM :
Just saw these, couldn’t see tripper on any of the outdoor pics though, just the one on a bike. No sign of Bruno either but think it may have been confirmed he’s missing this game anyway. not fancying our chances now

Against Liverpool's high line, Wood may as well stand off the pitch.

-------------------Pope------------------
Tripps (if fit)Manq---Schar --- botman-----Target
----Anderson------Longstaff-------Linton
Miggy-----------ISAK-----------*ASM----

Pope. Trip. Schar. Botman. Targett. Willock. Joelinton. Longstaff. Anderson. Fraser. Isak. Anderson as a wide forward, Fraser as a typical winger and Isak up top. Assumes Maxi is unable to play or on bench. Almiron as a sub.

Eddie Howe: Still no work permit for Isak, they have until 75 minutes before kick off. Trippier should be OK. Both Bruno and ASM are doubts with hamstring injuries, but neither are serious.

Time to get this thread warmed up

I have to watch via the PS5 as BT Sport STILL don't have an LG app :-<
