Chelsea banned from signing new players for next two transfer windows

Chelsea have been banned from signing new players in the next two transfer windows for breaching Fifa rules in relation to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.
More to follow.

Well, didn't see this coming.

So what does this mean for Pulisic? Wasn't he bought in January, but was due to sign in the summer?

They’re fucked. They surely have to appeal and bribe this off for a Man City/PSG style fine dodge instead with CAS. Their squad is in a right old state as it is. Hazard will leave on a free instead of this summer now if they don’t get out of it [emoji15]

Edit-‘signing’ players so they ‘could’ sell hazard. But won’t as they can’t sign a replacement

Does it mean they are less likely to sell Hazard? Not ideal if so - but great news regardless.

Hazard will not carry that team to a title challenge alone. I guess Higuain is just a loan deal (not sure how long) so they might have to throw Hazard up front and loose creativity or use him as kreative force with noone up front?

Agreed, but without him they would be at risk of falling into the pack with Wolves/Everton/Bournemouth.

Surely no chance of Sarri being fired now as no manager would come in under these circumstances

There's still every chance he'll be fired, partly because their next manager is probably going to be some young up and comer who will be tasked with trying to do a Pochettino with the squad and promote youth and blah blah blah, before also getting the sack.

Fair.

I guess they also have about 400 players out on loan they can look to incorporate back in. Batshuayi, Babayoko (lol), Kenedy, Moses, Tammy Abraham etc.

Surely this means they will have to recall some of the Gazillion players they have on loan across the known universe.

What goes around comes around, I hope the rest of the Premiership fucking bury them beyond recovery over the next year.

Exactly.

They won't improve an awful lot for it but they have no shortage of players to fill out a squad

If Abramovich does decide to turn off the money tap completely, and sell up, they could be in a world of shit.

I'd hold fire on this. Don't forget, when it happened to Barca, they pushed it back a year and Barca went on a spending spree to make sure they were covered for 12months.

Didn't we also get a transfer ban?
We aren't allowed to sign academy players from other English clubs for two years.

The news said there are 4 more premier League clubs under investigation for similar reasons.

I wouldn't be laughing too much yet

If we were banned from buying academy players up to last summer it surely can't be us that are investigated for false dealings with academy players…. We can't be that daft?
