Good right backs are not plentiful, but they aren't expensive either. So no need to dredge the blue bells of hell to find the cheapest and most obscure option out there that said - who do you want us to sign to replace Glen Johnson?

Of the list (and not taking into account other transfers etc) I would want us to sign Frimpong as I think he would be deadly in our team. He would arguably hold back Bradley, but the pair of them would add another level of threat to our right hand side.

I would have no problems seeing Aina coming in as a capable rotation RB with Bradley, and he would be a 2 season signing IMO, which isn't always a bad thing. I know very little about the others.

I've also said it elsewhere but I rate James Justin - he isn't himself since his major injury but if we were having to find good financial pick ups around the league I think he would be a decent back up / in-case-of-injuries player. But appreciate that is not the mindset we should be using as reigning champions in this window.

Porro is statistically the most like Trent and has had a decent season in the rolling fire of shit that has been Spurs season. It's also why Madrid has him as their alternative to Trent. As much as I hate Madrid, I trust their scouting more than my own, so I think he is the most like for like player we could with. He's a good age and PL proven. He's got a lot going for him.

I'd have Frimpong second because watching him I feel he could play anywhere up the right flank and inject some pace and creativity no matter where he starts. I haven't seen him a great deal, but I like the idea.

Ultimately it depends on how Slot wants, which we still unclear on and also the type of LB we sign. It will be interesting whether he wants contrasting FBs or a level of symmetry on the flanks.

Forced to guess, I would suspect Slot wants technically gifted and tactically astute players who are comfortabe following instructions and playing our from the back in the patterns he wants.

Porro would be a good option but Spurs are gonna force anyone that wants him to cough up the best part of 100M, which is madness.

Anyone less than 25M,

Minimum Requirement: Knows how to defend, and fairly quick, with brain to support attack without going AWOL into the attacking areas.

Problem is that frimpong defending is about as good as trent.

Frimpong has pace and work rate. That gets you far as a full back and is an upgrade on Trent.

Frimpong can probably cover the entire right side, so we could sell Chiesa and have a back up for Salah as well.

Martim Fernandes and Omar El Hilali should be on the list. Fernandes has a lot of the same traits as Trent in terms of passing while El Hilali has been the best U21 right back in terms of defending this season. Linked with Villa, Brighton, City and Arsenal.

I've never seen most of these play but I'm still certain Curtis is better right back than the lot.

I'd take Frimpong for the thrills.

Yeah I am slightly intrigued by Frimpong. It's a real YOLO signing, esp if we also sign Kerkez / Ait Nouri. Back to the days when we won every game 4-3 ...

I haven't been impressed with Frimpong's defense the few times I have watched him. He got roasted by Nico Williams in the recent game against Spain.
That's why Koeman rarely plays him at RB even if Dumfries isn't available.

I don't think Slot will want that given his desire for control and defensive stability. If we sign Kerkez then we won't sign Frimpong imho.

Maxim then Porro for me. Porro will probably be too expensive but I'd say he's all the attributes we'd be looking for with a decent coach upgrading his defensive work.

Getting roasted by Nico happens to the best of defenders. I watched both games and Frimpong was very good. Work rate, defensive and attacking from that RW spot. If there is anything that worries me its whether or not its easy for him to adjust again to a back 4. His best season defensively for Leverkusen was when they played 4 at the back though with him as the RB.
