Dont shoot the messenger you lot, as I know what you are like!

Just been rang and told 15th July there will be an announcement to say we have been sold, apparantly we have been sold to an Abu Dhabi group, cannot be specific sorry.

Source: Friend of friend who works at club, tenuous I know but thought Id tell you all.
 
Cheers Peatcheo, it sounds similar to other rumours that have done the rounds.

It would certainly explain the delay in announcing a new manager.

To add to the rumour thing, this was mentioned the other day. A kid who was a mascot at Spain's last game and was led out by Torres apparently asked El Nino if he was moving to another club (specifically he asked about Man City). Torres is supposed to have said he would never go to City or any other Premiership club and had no intentions of leaving because "his heart is with Liverpool".

Salt, pinch and all that, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Every bit of me wants to believe that's true.
 
Whether it is or not, I never believed Torres would leave this summer anyway, whatever the media frenzy might have tried to claim.

I just hope he'll give the same answer if somebody asks him NEXT summer.

Supposedly a deal struck with the new manager for the owners - who happens to be working at the world cup. That's what the other similar rumour suggested.

I presume should his team get knocked out, the announcement can move forward if everything is in order.

The Notts County deal was a fiasco BUT they actually won the league during all the mayhem, just the type of fiasco we need.
 
Ties in with the other rumor, which gave a time frame which off the top of my head would have put an announcement around then. I'm gonna go with the whole no smoke without fire mind set on this one

This rumour has been circulating for so long, I would have thought some journalist would have followed it up by now if there was anything in it.

Surely they can't all be at the World Cup?

Makes sense, the England players are back Tue PM/Wed, so they can say he's met Stevie & Carra & they are fully behind him.
