Thinks he owns the place

So, guess he'll be off shortly. WBA, Palace and Soton are interested and today Goal are reporting that Galatasaray and Sevilla have registered an interest aswell.
He posted another of those weird training videos yesterday were he said he would soon be back on the pitch again.

Goal claim we're confident of getting 20 mill £ for him, but surely the transfer market isnt that fucked and good to us.
I was thinking we'd be lucky to get 10-12 mill £ for him.

Shame how it's ending. He's had his critics and they have a point, but he's also played some excellent games for us and could have been so much better overall if his head had been screwed on straight. And yes, I know it isn't reason enough on its own to keep a player, but he has done a lot of good work in schools and suchlike.

Mamadou Sakho YNWA.

Yeah, lovely guy, and in that run in the Europa in particular, he had some real highlights. In the away match against Dortmund he had Aubameyang in his pocket. Sorry it didn't work out.

You see how much players are going for now, we shouldn't be selling for less than 15m.

Not sure what the general feeling is - but has the club gone over the top with the whole preseason thing that happened with him?

Yeah he was clowning around & rightly so got punished - but to the point where he has been completely frozen out from game time in the first team and ushered to the exit door seems quite harsh to me.

If Firmino can get booked for drink driving and start the next game ...

Not exactly unexpected. Never rated him, but like others have said he seemed to be a jovial character.

Roopy: I would agree, and can only imagine some harsh words passed between him and Klopp about which we haven't had the full skinny. Neither strikes me as the type to back down.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too - something has occurred in the background and we haven't been made aware of it.

I guess we will know Sakho's version of events once he is sold.

He was told that he wouldnt play any part this season but chose to stay regardless. Cant really complain about lack of game time or being frozen out then.

I have some sympathy for him but he stormed off before a game under Rodgers as well, so I think Klopp just didnt want someone in the squad who could behave themselves. It was 3-4 incidents werent there?

Ah well, hopefully we'll get a decent fee for him.

I can only assume plenty more happened behind the scenes than we know off, as being late to a training session doesn't seem to equate to banishment from the club.

Perhaps its related to that drugs case or maybe hes just a bit of a cunt and Klopp doesnt like him, who knows.. Either way, he had some games were he was decent and others where he was a shambles but overall we probably could have done with him at times this season.

£20m would be good business.

I strongly suspect he was doping & the club found out about it either before or during the 'water tablets' incident. You only take them to cover taking other shit, at least you do if you're an athlete anyway.

Klopp seems to have a strong moral compass so I can imagine he wants shut because of it, & the owners will be well aware of the damage that kind of scandal can do a team.

Then you have the fact it puts his previous performances under question. Is he going to be that good or the same level without any illegal help? Getting as much as we can for him now seems the best decision imo.

Never rated him as good enough for us. Too many Bamby moments when he found himself on his ass.
Also, the fact that PSG let him go at the time looked a bit suspicious to me.
Good luck to him.

Water tablets? I don't recall that... he was busted for an amphetamine-like fat burner, not a diuretic. Unless there was an earlier incident I'd forgotten?

You may be right. I think it was the initial rumours that said it was water tablets now you mention it.

Still, I find it very hard to divorce that whole saga with the fact he's been frozen out since. It seems far to much of a coincidence.

He wasn't frozen out after that drug incident though.

Such a strange player. At times he looked amazing but most other times he looked like the clumsiest fool ever. He used to just about manage to get the ball out of his feet when he was playing it out of the box but not without considerable effort. He was great in the air though and fairly solid. Deffo not a Klopp type player though. I'm glad he's going.

I liked him and I don't understand how this has played out but he's exit looks inevitable. He will do well in the right team, would have been interesting to see him and Matip as a pairing.

They're connected for sure, but the full details have never come out. Sakho was clearly miffed that the club didn't back him initially and, given that he was cleared, one can understand that, but what we don't know is what led to the club's decision, which it has never explained as far as I know.

I guess he wasted HIS Liverpool career when Klopp told him going on loan but he decided to learn Klopp how to build his Liverpool squad by staying put instead.

He might have been cleared, but would Klopp tolerate a player taking anything without clearing it with the club doctor?

There were plenty of people defending his performances when is obvious he was never good enough. Slow and clumsy in possession. Who can forget his passing style

Liked him for his off-field comunity service. Always felt he made our defence nervous with his clumsy style.
Let's hope we use the money wisely.
