Slot on Salah and why he was benched for past three games: "We, as a team, struggled this season and more and more last season with the game plans other teams had against us.

"So I am not talking about the long ball style, which is something, teams do against us now.

"I have tried to come up with my solutions because that is my job. We have tried many things and we looked very vulnerable after all the things I've tried against Forest and PSV.

"I decided to pay with an extra midfielder in the game against West Ham. We won the game so I decided to do it one more time against Sunderland.

"At half-time, I brought him [Salah] in. Then against Leeds, we faced a 5-3-2 and I decided to play a 4-4-2 diamond if you want to talk about it like this with Hugo Ekitike a bit off the right side and Cody Gakpo a bit off the left and Florian Wirtz in between.

"I could have played Mo off the right but I decided to play Hugo."

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot on if there is a way back for Mohamed Salah: "I'm a firm believer that there is always a possibility to return for a player.

Slot says he spoke to Salah twice in the two days before the Leeds match. He says he has not spoken to Salah individually since the Leeds game.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot on if his relationship with Mohamed Salah has broken down: "We let him know that he's not travelling with us so that was the only communication that there has been from us to him.

"Of course, before Saturday, the two of us have spoken a lot. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.

"That's not the way I feel [that relationship has broken down] but he has the right to feel how he feels things. I haven't felt that at all - until Saturday evening, for sure.

"When I didn't play him, usually players don't like the manager that much but he was very respectful to my staff, to his teammates and he trained really hard.

"So, to an extent, it was a surprise to me when I heard after the game that he gave the comments that he gave.

"Like I said, it's not the first time and won't be the last time that when a player doesn't play, that he says something similar to what he did.

"My reaction to that is also clear. He isn't here tonight."

Well I'm done with Slot after another boring presser but then I was done with him pretty early on in the season. He can take Hughes and the twat consultant Edwards with him too. If he does turn this around, will be probably the best managerial come back ever.

UNLESS his name is Enrico and his last name is Chiesa - OBVIOUSLY.

Thanks Dee. Why wouldn't you haul Mo into your office and thrash it out? Sounds very broken if they're not going to be speaking. Something needs to happen before Mo goes Afcon. Otherwise Saudi will pay us minus £3m to take his wages off us.
