So lads, you're an Arsenal board member, or part owner of the club. You have a manager who gets you to the CL every season, and comes second most years in the PL. It might be that he has hit his ceiling.

Do you persist and be happy with what you have? Or do you seek a new manager (perhaps a big name), to try and win the league and get you that one place higher (which may also result in it all falling apart). Tough call!

let’s get a level headed take from aftv, im sure they have some perfectly rational thoughts about this.

im not sure how their fanbase feel about the tail end of the wenger reign? did they feel like they took regular top 4 for granted or do they feel they waited too long to shift him? if it’s the former they’ll maybe take longer to turn on lego head.

I do think they're wavering. He definitely has built a good team. A really good team. A team that might win the league if other teams have a bad year. But a) they're fucking boring b) they're up against us. If they battle their way to another second place, but are way behind us, then I think they'll properly turn on him. Last season we kinda went down the gears and the final points difference wasn't what it should have been or they might have been closer to getting properly angsty- that and the CL run.

Start a new thread. It's international week, there's no football of interest.

So let’s have a decent thread title think to keep the gray/grey cells operating over the break. If we get really bored we can debate the correct spelling of gr a/e y

I think they can do better so yes they should get rid. The problem is whether the timing is ever going to be right. They kind of need him to have a really bad year just so they can sack him without looking too harsh.

Their squad is arguably the deepest and broadest in the league, certainly the most stable - both City and ourselves have had far more first team turnover in the past 24months. They should be winning tin pots, big season for legohead.

If they do not win PL or CL this year, I think they should bring someone else in and that person should be willing to do the job with minimal transfers, because the talent is there already.

Be careful what you wish for - somebody like Ancelotti could be available next year - he could certainly add some value to a very well assembled squad.

Surely a thread about Mikel Arteta's Arsenal should not have a title?

I was about to type something out an then went and looked at his history and damn, hadn't realized he's been there for so long. I thought it was like 3-4 seasons. Also, Arsenal have had next to no churn since Wenger, feels like a lifetime since he was managing.

Anyways, yeah, they're in a bit of a sticky positon. Whilst lego head hasn't delivered trophies, they are a top 3 team and have stability. Things can go south under the wrong manager fairly quickly. Is there an outstanding candidate to replace him with? If so, switching would seem enticing. If you're looking at Amorim style gambles, probably less so, and I'd be inclined to stick and hope for the best.

He’s been at Arsenal almost 6 years, won 1x FA cup early doors with a squad a players he didn’t purchase. Has spent a fortune since, created a competitive group of players.

He has to deliver this season.

I have far more respect for the real og of the shit football decent results school Tony Pulis than this wet try hard light bulb waving wannabe

Wow, SCM AI is next level bananas. I made this comment in another thread, and somehow, it's become it's own thread here magically.

Why would we want him gone and replaced by someone who might actually make them better?

I’m only for it if they want to give the gig to Ten Hag… he’ll have a plan for them to stick to.

Or Amorim… he’d be fun…. Although they probably could play 343 formation effectively - they have the players.

He has a bigger and better squad no doubt but does he have a better first team, debatable. Zubi, Eze and Gyokeres do not feel like a big upgrade from last season.

And it's the same Arteta at the helm.
