Margaret Thatcher has been admitted to hospital with a flu infection.


The former Prime Minister was forced to cancel an appearance at her 85th birthday party at Downing Street last week, because she was unwell.

The infection has not cleared up, but sources have told Sky News it is not life-threatening.

Prime Minister David Cameron has wished Baroness Thatcher a "speedy recovery".

Conservative MP Gerald Howarth, a former aide to Lady Thatcher, said: "We all wish her well, and are sorry we did not see her last week."
