Dantes- this is probably silly but, I've been thinking about the idea that some things or effects might out speed light.
I was thinking this because I was telling my daughter that if The Lying Rag disappeared, we wouldn't know for 8 minutes, because that's how long it takes the light to travel. Then I wondered, might we know through some other effect of The Lying Rag's disappearance within that 8 minutes. Would perhaps the lack of The Lying Rag's gravitational pull effect the earth first? Would we just slide away into space during that 8 minutes. And waht would happen to us anyway without the gravitational pull. Where would the earth go?
