Tour de France

I'm watching. Very exciting so far. Good to see Cavendish crying of course.

Armstrong's worst day ever on the Tour.
The End.

Contador doesnt look as strong as last year, he couldnt follow Schleck in the last kilometer.
I think he's still win the Tour though.
Contador
Schleck
Evans

I hope the cyclist who takes the most drugs wins

What a great 'sport'!
As opposed to what? The totally clean and dope free world of Football? Tennis? Athletics?

Football and Tennis are far more dope-free than Cycling, for many obvious reasons

Athletics is fucking shit anyway, so who cares
I dont think doping is as widespread in Cycling as it was, its not clean yet obviously but the testing is so random and so stringent that its getting harder for the dopers to dope. Lance Armstrong is the most tested professional athlete on the planet. I read in cycling weekly that a pro-cyclist is tested more times per year than any other sportsman will be tested in a lifetime. They take it very seriously and although the high profile cases will always be huge news they should be commended for at least attempting to stamp it out.

I've been watching too, been a few good stages. Sundays mountain climb was good, Lance down twice and essentially giving up and now having to be the Radioshack bitch (domestique).

Schlecks always been good, although they ride better when they dont ride together as they always wait for each other.
I agree about Schlecks. In fact i think its more defined than that. I think Andy is a world beater and Frank isnt and i think Andy is holding himself back because of his older brother. Big bro being out now could be the best thing to happen to Andy. He was dominant against COntador on the first proper climb.
I still fancy Contador, but him and Basso will be there or there abouts.

Schleck or Contador now for the GC, I'd say. The former looks slightly stronger in the mountains but will be wary of the latter's time-trialling capabilities. The penultimate stage is 50 km against the clock. There are plenty more climbs, including the Tourmalet but I can't see it being decided until after the time trial.
Shame about Wiggins. I'd hoped he might crack the top 5 but that looks very unlikely now.

Im looking forward to riding a stage next July, well its not le tour, but a stage from the old tour of Britain in south wales. 120 miles of pain.

I watched highlights last night, this tours broken some very good riders.

They asked him about that on the Prologue, wry smiles all round. This might be the best chance for him now he doesnt have to hang around pulling him through the race.

Not sure about that - we'll see what happens first day in the Pyrenees -Andy may well be missing Franks help, Armstong will undoubtedly be out to prove something, and Contador will want to cut the margin down pretty quickly....

Today was a little ho-hum, but the last few have been crackers...
Yeah its still Contadors to lose for me. But Andy has that glint in his eye on the podium there. Its gonna be a belter i reckon.

Big stage today and the last one in the mountains. Schleck has no choice but to attack given that Contador will deffo gain time over him in Saturday's TT.

Let the fireworks begin !!

Contador is a fucking cheat. I wasnt a massive fan before (or of Schleck for that matter), but he'd have won anyway so putting the pedal down like that makes him a soulless gimp.

Yup. Not the best form from Albert.
Although it's been a decent tour it's been a bit cut and dry. Its been Alberto since day one really. Shame I thought yer Bassos and menchovs would be up in the mix this year.

Good read that Ross. That's fucking shocking behaviour from a domestique.
Some of the younger riders have been great to watch this year and it's exciting to see the next generation coming through.
Roche and Hesjedal both look like being big time riders in future.

I rode a 10% hill for about 3/4's of a mile the other week, it was nasty. 11 and 12% for miles is brutal. Tourmalet must be littered with broken bodies of riders who have all the gear and no idea.

Next years Dragonride is going to be a good test.
amazing isn't it. Watching people sprint top speed alongside the bikes and only able to keep up for seconds on a 12 incline is unreal. You could fucking walk past me on the hills behind my house.
