Someone on TalkSport said earlier that Kenny has a transfer kitty of £50 mill.plus whatever he brings in from player sales. Unfortunately he added that El Zhar's on £30,000 a week and that Wash's wages are even higher. Are we actually going to be able to shift players like that?

no. We'll have to buy out their contract i reckon just to get them off the wage bill.

Fucking hell...

Anyway, no matter how big budget he has it is mandatory to be smart. Selling Ming to get Adam is not smart. One player we have and know functions for us, the other a potential to be just as good, but hardly any better...

so if the adam/downing news is true we've got 5million left?
i reckon talkshite are sprayin bollocks everywhere, we'll have at least 70mill regardless

Listening to it as well JJ. Seems Downing will have to put in a transfer request if he wants the move.

I can't believe that El Zhar is on £30k, i mean what the fuck has he ever done? Looks like we've got a job on our hands shifting most of the shite.

Where else is the 120m we spend on wages going ?

There's got to be a lot of horrendous deals on our books.

Dunno mate, it was Graham Beecroft, who used to be Sports Editor at both BBC Radio Merseyside and Radio City.

I'd be really surprised if El Zhar is on 30k a week, we signed him from obscurity in the French League, not even Rafa's that stupid.

EDIT: He's on 4k a week.

But didn't he get an extension in '09 ?

Let's face it we did a lot of odd deals around that time

I'm quite new to talksport, but you get some superb interviews and news on it i've found.

It's very, very variable in my experience mate, but at its best I do think it's worth a listen.

That's his newest contract apparently, £4k p/w signed in July 2009 running until June 2012

I always try and catch the rugby show and the pieces they have with the likes of Vickery, Marcotti, Graham Hunter and Tony Evans. I would say though that sometimes the light hearted show filling stuff they do to generate people calling in, is a little naff.

As far as I'm aware we are on course to get £20m back if it is true we are flogging Ming, Wash and Koncheski. Overall we should be able to generate a minmum of £35M in sales should we unload most of the 'deadwood'.

So it seems we should blow away any previous summer Transfer Window spend.

much of which would most probably be spent on paying off the contracts of the rest of the deadwood
