Yeah, seems to be more of an issue with the players' finishing. It's his defending that concerns me more...
Interesting that most of our clear-cut chances these days seem to be of this variety - ball from deep releasing a striker one on one (who then proceeds to miss or shoot straight at the keeper). Hardly any successful crosses or cutbacks, quality set plays, almost never players entering the penalty area with the ball or long-range shots.
We have more or less always played the probability game which is to pack the opponent's half and to rely on individual brilliance to score. Otherwise it is off a counter press or an opponent's error due to our pressure. We played long balls alot as well when Salah was still rapid.
We made alot of chances and missed alot in the past. These days we make little chances but are still missing alot.
When did we last see him run and think he was absolutely electric? Is it my bias or has it been over a year?

It's not just his play, it's his attitude too. It's like he doesn't care, doesn't believe any of it is his fault. The dirty looks he gives, the kiss of the teeth.
His general style of play is now lazier, I don't have stats but I'd say the amounts of runs he did compared to last season, he has probably seen the biggest drop off

That could be said of all outfield players.
That’s part of the problem isn’t it - we’re used to having a high percentage possession of the ball, which means we should be running less - but that would mean we need players capable of retaining and passing the ball, and we’re shit at doing that as well.
Making more of a effort defence wise ( Could still do better ) But for fuck sake let someone else take a freekick on occassion

Just becuase you can "generally" deliever a good ball It does not mean you always take the best freekick, or that your freekick are the best from certain areas of the field,or you stand the best chance of swing on past the keep...
It’s strange that you post this after an away win in which the defender in question marked an assist and 4 key passes. As in, it worked.
Maximan was skipping past all of our players. As he does against pretty much all the players in the league. It’s just unfortunate for him that his finishing and passing is atrocious.

He was skipping past everyone, so strange to pick TAA out for that ! St.M is like a better version of Adama Traore.
Let's not go overthinking here. He was playing on Trent's side before their sending off. That's why I said Trent. That's all there is to it.
Meaning he played most of the match all over (centre and both sides) - and was still skipping past everyone, let's not introduce an anti-Trent bias, he roasted most of our players.
Except he played through the centre and off both flanks. Some of us saw the match, too.

This is a Trent thread isn't it? I called out the entire team for their lack of challenges in the match thread if you are wondering.
It seems whenever a comment is made about a player like Trent, it becomes a "thing". You made it a thing, not me.
