First time since the 6-1 Watford game that we might potentially have a full squad ( bar a few injured reserves).

Will Mané start? Don't think so. The club has arranged a quicker return from Gabon but will he be fit and ready after 120 mins?
I'm guessing that he's going to be on the bench.

Line up:

Mignolet

Clyne
Matip
Lovren
Milner

Hendo
Can
Lallana

Coutinho
Firmino
Sturridge

I really want to believe that we'll bounce back here especially with Matip back but I just can't see it.
I'm afraid that Chelsea are really going to punish us. They don't even have to go for a win. A draw would almost be a win for them.

Guaranteed that Conte will park the bus and rely on likes of Costa / Hazard creating something out of nothing / a set piece dropping nicely to one of them.

@Modo - seriously?
You want Studge & Firmino together? so you basically want to start with 10 player, and a horribly off form Can ... Is this you trying to work your jinx magic twice in a week after your Senegal work?

It's not the line up I want, it's the line up I think he'll use. Based on the players who played and were on the bench against Wolves.
Origi played 90 mins, don't think he'll start.
Wijnaldum also.
Sturridge was on the bench and so was Coutinho and Can.

its going to be brutal. We haven't got a team to compete with them currently.

On paper, maybe. We should have beaten Wolves on paper.

Quite. It's almost folly to try and predict what kind of display and performance you're going to get from Liverpool.

Of course so far this January we've been totally shite, but I still wouldn't be too quick to dismiss our chances against Chelsea.

Chelsea are obviously a better side and have a better squad, but we could say the same thing about Swansea or Southampton or Wolves

Hopefully we'll see a much better performance. Shame we havent had better time to prepare and that we come into this game with shite confidence.
We know that poor form might not mean much in a game like this though.

Not sure I would play Sturridge. He's done nothing.
Hopefully Mane will be able to play some part in the game.

I think he might start mane, he doesn't seem the sturridge sort where he gets a bit tired or a bit injured and doesn't fancy it, I think Klopp might treat this as he's just been away for an international game. I hope anyway.
Henderson, wijnaldum and lallana in midfield please. Fuck Can off.

Can hasn't been much worse than Wijnaldum in the last few games. At least Can has tried to score or do something to actually alter the course of the game.

I wouldn't be enthused or dismayed by either being in the side.

I wish this match was on Wednesday.

Not because we'd get an extra day's rest (although that would help), but because some utterly irrational part of me thinks that once January is over February will be better.

As it is I'm fairly convinced we'll get arse raped, but part of me thinks there's a chance, what with us being Liverpool, that we'll pull something off.

There's a reason I rarely put us on an acca, cos we're so often unpredictable that it's ridiculous.

Won't Mane be absolutely fucking knackered?! Klopp is pretty rigidly sticking to his guns regards players onlu playing when physically fit enough.

As such I wouldn't be too surprised to see Mane on the bench come Tuesday.

We seem to be susceptible to teams who play on the counter and who are happy to rely on set pieces. Unfortunately, Chelsea are the best at this and they practically start 1 goal up (knowing they don't have to win).

I think we'll need a lot of patience and a bit of luck if we are going to win this. It's certainly possible. Hopefully we nick it late 1-0.

Yeah, but quit frankly I'm getting bored of this shit, too. Klopp and his fucking Scientific Data Corps, making all these information-informed decisions, and using this data to decide that Lucas Leiva can play in midfield as Captain.

Almost as if....they have no fucking idea what they're doing

Do you regard him as a charlatan?

I'd be starting Mane. Senegal only played 4 matches and Mane only played in 3 of them. ET won't have helped but if he's flown back today as the echo report then I think he'll be ok to start.

I reckon we'll get something from this game, we played poorly before the scum game and played well in that one, it's against the bigger boys that we can get results.

We need a complete turnaround in Mentality for this one, and a sparkling atmosphere which I don't think Anfield will provide given recent performances.

I'd like to see (assuming Clyne is out)

--------------Mignolet-------------
TAA-----Lovren--Matip---Milner
---------------Hendo----------------
--------Lallana-----Wijnal---------
Origi--------Firmino-------Coutinho

I don't think even Klopp will deem Studge or Can worthy of starting this given the month of turgid performances they have both put in after a spell on the fringes. They both had opportunities to earn a slot in the lineup due to injury and both missed the bar.

Hopefully Mane is a bench option as that would actually mean we have a sub capable of changing the game. I would actually like to see how our front 3 does against a back 3, although I expect Ake to play LWB if Alonso is out and Chelsea to operate more like a 5-3-2.
