'Preparation and preparation' – that is the agenda for Jürgen Klopp this week.

Liverpool’s summer work concluded with their eighth pre-season friendly on Saturday, a 3-1 victory over Athletic Club in Dublin that followed up trips to Hong Kong and Germany.
The new Premier League campaign is now firmly in sight and the Reds kick off 2017-18 by journeying to Vicarage Road to face Watford in just four days’ time.
Before then, Klopp – who cannot wait for the competitive action to begin – will carefully tweak his team to meet the needs of the clash with the Hornets.
“We have to get a little bit of fresh legs back, but that will happen,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com of the pre-Watford plans.
“Tactical things – we’ll have an exact look at what Watford will ask of us system-wise and things like this; preparation and preparation.
“We will be prepared and hopefully it’s good enough to win.
“I’m excited. I’ve been looking forward to the first game since we started pre-season. I’m not the best in pre-season – I’m not very patient. I’m happy that we can start.”

I reckon the team could be :

............................ Mignolet

AA ........... Matip .......... Lovren ............ Robertson

............ Henderson ........ Wijnaldum

........................... Coutinho

Salah ................. Firmino .............. Mane

And we'll win by two goals, at least.
 
I reckon Can will start ahead of Wijnaldum and possibly moreno ahead of Robertson. But apart from that i reckon that will be the team.
 
This team does have more pace in it than it had last year. Hopefully that makes the difference against the little teams.
 
Can will start, as will Milner I reckon, at lb.

We need some height in the team against Watford. Other than that, spot on
 
Odd one for me this. I normally go into town for the first match of the season, but this year, due to loads of outside factors the only time me & the lads can go on our summer camping trip is this weekend.

So we're gonna be in the middle of Wales, watching it on my laptop in the local pub (which has wifi), as the nearest pub with sky is 45 minutes drive away & we're all gonna be drunk/hungover. I've already called the pub & checked & they don't mind us doing so. Still, gonna be a bit mad.

As for the game itself, we've looked very good in pre-season, & our problems are gonna come in the final third of the season, not now, so I think we're gonna win, & do so convincingly. We'll win 1-4.
 
It's also going to be 'hosted' by Mighty Red 🤢 in the Main Stand via video screen for the princely price of £19!

Apparently Henderson only passes sideways, so he'll need to be in the middle, with another player either side of him, otherwise he'll keep passing the ball into touch.
 
Gomez might start instead of TAA and Milner as LB. Coutinho will be held back for the Hoffenheim game so Can should play.

My mate got his kid bang into Liverpool, & my mates dad likes watching the game with the family, so last season almost every home game he bought them tickets for the mighty red hosting a game thing (think it was in the bar though not the main stand).

My mate hates it, as apparently do all the other dads there. Unfortunately the kids fucking love it. He said it's mental cos it's full of dads shouting "OH FOR FFfffff" & similarly censoring themselves mid shout.

Last season they certainly did in the overpriced bar/cafe. Nit sure how often they do the main stand thing. I assume if enough people will pay they will do that every week.

I mean fuck, they're essentially charging you nearly £20 to come into their bar & buy their drinks at a markup.

There's almost no expenditure (sky licence already paid for, so just bar staff wages & a yts kid in the mighty red suit) & a huge profit.

Amusing quips aside, my perhaps literal-minded thinking would have me suggest an actual hornet (which wiki tells me used to be the crest). It looks shit.

Fuck man.... First we give London a nice green xmas three every year as a thank you for your help during the world war.... Then we give Watford a big red elk as a thank you for having Elton John shifting focus from Music to football (well, I saw he played concerts in Italy last year so the focus is probably shifted back?).... And this is the acknowledgement????
