Wrestlemania.

Yup its that time of the year again, the greatest show in sports entertainment and a few cracking matches lined up.
Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton ought to be the highlight and the build for this match has been excellent.
Bray Wyatt vs Undertaker............ I dont really know what to make of this one. The impact of Brock ending the streak 12 months ago was so absolute that I just dont know what they are trying to do? If hes just being wheeled out to put Bray over I dont really get it, what is the benefit to beating a beaten man? The Undertaker is widely known in wrestling circles as a man who would always put over lesser lights and do whatever was best for the future of the business so it wouldnt surprise me, because he knows he isnt the future and the likes of Bray are, but I dont think Bray Wyatt needs any help and it will be a shame to see a legend trotted out just to fail again.
Im hoping that he wins and the fans get a proper goodbye to the man who has given so much, but last years loss was so impactful I cant help feeling its an error regardless of the outcome.

Brock vs Roman Reigns. The Lesnar show at the Rumble was so impressive, so total and clear that I feel sorry for Roman Reigns. The fans have been on his back because of the clear push hes been given and the path opening up for him to the title, that its kind of another damned if you do, damned if you dont match. I think Lesnar will win and rightly so.

Ladder match for the intercontintal. Its a bit of a mess. You get the feeling Ambrose is getting the push but will the fans take Daniel Bryan being pissed on again. It was Bryan getting knocked out of the rumble that ruined that event and since then the fans have been very vocal in their condemnation of the decision re-Bryan.

Rusev vs Cena. Who cares. They have been trying to put Rusev over as this Iron Sheik, Sgt Slaughter style villain for over a year and the problem is nobody cares. The fans at the rumble were even chanting for him to win over Roman Reigns. I dont think the racist/xenophobe schtick works anymore.

Anyway. Im looking forward to it. I stopped watching for years and years but Mollys sudden interest (all consuming) has given us something cool to share so im really enjoying it like I was a kid again. We are going to Smackdown live in a few weeks and Molly is so excited. She is crushing on Roman Reigns so for her sake I hope he beats Lesnar, but lets be honest if he does its a joke. Lesnar is a monster, probably the best fighter ever in the business.

Im waking her up at 1am to watch so we should have a great night.

Wishes:
Taker to win.
Reigns to win.
Ziggler to win.
Orton to win

Oh shit, I know nothing about the actual matches. I thought we were gonna attribute posters to certain wrestlers.

I'll move this to the General Chat.

My nephew is mad into this, so I keep up with it for him. But I do enjoy it.

Just seen that Lesnar signed a new contract, so at least the main event won't be as cut and dry, now that he's not going straight back to UFC next month.

Bit of a disappointing card to be honest, but for the spectacle there's nothing better.

Wrestle-fucking-mania!!

Nah the Rumble is the best PPV event in my book.

Back in the day I used to like King of the ring for some reason.

The rumble is the tits to be fair.

Does anyone remember when CM Punk had that infamous rant a few years back?
It was in Vegas, and my girlfriend got free tickets to it, but we left early 'to beat the traffic', and missed it.

No fucking way!!! That was amazing. Its still argued about today wether that was Kayfabe or not. Its certainly one of the best pieces of work ive ever seen in 20 or 30 years of watching the show.

I miss CM Punk. There is too much 'Corporate' by far at the minute. Punk and Stone Cold and the likes who always seemed to not give a fuck are missed.
Good to hear Lesnar is sticking around.

Yea, Bryan is in the perfect spot to be like that, but unfortunately can't see him going through with it.

Finn Balor is going to be the shit by the way, hope he debuts soon.

On a side note, my favourite podcast the Bs Report had an interview with Hulk Hogan that was pretty good.

One of the things I wouldn't have known was he tore his bicep picking up Andre at WrestleMania 3

Aidan says he works with a lad who turned pro. Fund Accountant by day, wrestler by night. A regular Irwin R. Schyster

Aidan?

Did you listen to the AOW ones with Punk? I haven't had the time yet, but I heard they give a pretty cool insight into the business.

No is that the Colt Cabana podcast?

I listened to a couple and didn't take to him

Shouldn't this be General Chat.. ?

Or Music TV and Films ?

Hardly a Sport.. Entertainment yes.. [emoji12]

I'm a major Punk fan but he comes off like a bit of a douche in those podcasts. I do agree that they completely killed his momentum, but he was giving out about everybody and everything.

I would guess he meant the most part of it, but was allowed to put it into the storyline. They were on the cusp of something fucking great with that storyline, but the crowd didn't turn on Punk like they wanted to keep him heel and they didn't have the balls to turn Cena heel. Also, they brought Punk back way to early. There was so much they could have done with it. They make so much money from Cena's merchandise and he brings so much good publicity through Make A Wish etc. that they'll never turn him heel.

My girlfriend has been on a full nostalgia trip watching WWF from 2000-2001 then last few days, so I grabbed a second hand copy of Summerslam and Invasion from 2001 for her and watched also. Christ those times were awesome, Rock, Stone Cold, Triple H, Kane, Undertaker, Edge, Christian, DX, and so on, so many good characters, saying that though, it was proper eery seeing Chris Beniot knowing whats to come.

He is the absolute business in the ring, has the look and some of his entrances are spectacular, my only issue is they haven't given him much of a character or big interviews in NXT. He has no real character direction. They need to figure out where they are going with him before they call him up. When they have a plan in place like for the Shield it works, but they've messed up before. Remember when Bray Wyatt was Husky Harris? Mr. Perfect's son gets called up as Michael McGillicutty? What the hell is that about.

He'll be brought up as Sheamus' cousin and they'll feud over wether Guinness or potatoes taste better.

Hes a genius in ring but his stuff about Ryback pissed me off. You just dont do that.

What's network? Paint me intrigued!

Seeing as Sky want £20 for it on PPV and the network's £9.99 with no commitment it seems a bit of a no brainer.

I'm planning on signing up just for Wrestlemania but reckon I'll end up keeping it once the months up so I can watch NXT regularly and go on multiple nostalgia trips back to the attitude era
