Wrestlemania.

One week away. Some good matches aside from the main event.
Brock vs Ambrose
7 way ladder match
Shane vs Undertaker.
I like these match ups.

I think the authority need to give up trying to put Roman Reigns over as a babyface, it just isnt working. Anyone but HHH and the entire crowd are against him.

It doesn't look like they're rolling out the old folks to boost sales either. Brave choices for once.

I like some of the match's others I think they've got horribly wrong.

The ladder match will be fun but it should've been for the US belt rather than the IC; Kevin Owens deserved a singles match as he's been great since debuting. The only thing that will save this for me is if it properly kick's off a good, extended feud between Owens and Zayn.

Brock v Ambrose will be good and I think Ambrose will get the win; like the fact it's no holds barred given the size difference between the 2

'Taker v Shane will be better than it possibly should be. The way it's been built though would suggest the result is a fore gone conclusion unless there's an almighty screw job on the finish to set up a post 'mania feud for 'Taker.

I think the woman's title match will be very good given the talent the 3 have got.

The main event will be bollocks if they just carry on with the "Roman is superman" approach, have him win and try to keep him babyface. Part of me wants them to just to see how loudly he gets booed at the end.

Apart from that the rest of the card is pretty "meh" to me and i don't think they've done enough to build some of the other matches.

Zero brave choices. I didn't stay up, but I couldn't help but look at the spoilers and I'll watch some on the network later, but it didn't seem a great show. I'll still have a look though. I'm not one of those smarky fans, I barely watch any wrestling now, but I watched NXT Takeover Dallas yesterday and it was genuinely outstanding. Miles better than any wwe ppv I've seen in a very long time.

Ryder seemed to come from nowhere. I like him, but he's been booked as a jobber for three years and then randomly put into ladder match to win?

I've read there was a fuckload of booing Reigns going on. Is this the case?

Reigns needs a good "turn heel" story. He's fucked right now. The decision for him to lose his title in the Rumble sealed his fate.

I tried to stay up, then rested my eyes momentarily. But it seems like everything before Shaquille O'Neil was good, and after not so much.

It seemed pretty bad. The WWE kept muting the audience noise, so it's hard to gage (although the fact they felt compelled to do that says a lot).

That match itself was terrible though. Overly long, slow with lots of crappy headlocks and the normal punch, spear, leg drog combo from reigns. It also started about 15 minutes after the show was due to end, so the crowd were probably more restless than they would have been.

Steph looked good though!

They should have turned Reigns heel time ago.
The lack of top teir talent right now is terrible. Cena coming back must be a boost, but this is now their problem for A)Putting Rollins over for faaaar too long and B)Dragging this Reigns things out too long means the likes of Wyatt, Cesaro, Ziggler who should be at the top table are still fucking around the mid card (granted Cesaro is injured) so we have Reigns and Lesnar and thats it.
Orton coming back will help as will Cena but seeing Mankind, Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Triple H and HBK last night shows what we have left behind. From 6 top drawer potential champions (not to mention Angle, Guerrero, Edge, Jericho etc) shows how far its fallen that we just have the one t-shirt selling machine they are pushing over at the time.
Either Bray etc get pushed up soon or I reckon its finished.

I mean finished as a thing worth watching. Not as a thing. Entertainment for the kids, merch and trading card games aside.

I like all the Wyatts. Classic heels.

The whole Cena thing is getting boring now. He's like a modern day Hogan.

Cena is probably worse than Hogan as in the overexposure to him. Hogan was in WWF from what 83-92ish at a time when there wasn't 12 pay per views a year or shows like Raw or Smackdown. Cena's had 11 years as pretty much untouchable at the top. How hard can it be to build even a handful of guys and make them look on the same level? It's a bad state of affairs when you're relying on guys from the past to make Wrestlemania worth watching.

Did not feel like starting a new thread, but just read that Chyna was found dead today. One could argue that she was the first of the modern divas. RIP.

Brought the young fella to WWE Live in Dublin last night. Have to admit, I think I enjoyed it as much as him.

I work near the 3 Arena. Saw a few kids passing in Roman Reigns t-shirts and John Cena wristbands. That's why WWE couldn't give a fuck what older fans think if there are kids buying all that stuff.

Hahaha no.
I cant see past Shawn Michaels for the absolute best of all time.
He could do anything. From high flying to slugging it out. Heel or babyface, fought and beat everyone.
HBK for me.
I really like you Oncy but FFS - Shawn Michaels?! Balls to you - Jimmy Fly Super Snuka all the way. Or the Beefcake!

Hulk Hogan is unequivocally the best wrestler ever for his role in popularising the "sport". Whilst he wasn't the best technical wrestler it was more than adequate for the role he played as a both a face and heel.

The most talented wrestler was the Hit Man, although Kurt Angle is very underrated.

Snuka is a murderer and a cunt

Really? I just liked his flying antics. Beefcake was boss though.

As a side note I met a guy in Thailand that was sort of buddies with Ted Dibiase - Apparently he's some kind of monk now.

He notoriously murdered somone in the 80s and somehow managed to get away with it. A lot of the wrestlers mentioned it in their books http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/wwe-legend-jimmy-snuka-charged-6366460

I can imagine Ted Dibiase as a charismatic preacher. Hope he hasn't taken a vow of silence!

Hulk Hogan!??

Hulk Hogan!??
If you are taking about the ability to have a good match then HBK would be in the top 5 easily but being a wrestler is about more than that.

Hulk was arguably the biggest face ever (slamming Andre at Wrestlemania 3), and probably the biggest heel ever when he joined the NWO. The only person that even compares to that reaction was Stone Cold. Go back and listen to the ovation he gets when he fought the Rock at whatever Wrestlemania that was, Rock was supposed to be the good guy in that match but Hulk got the bigger reactions.

He was also the first break out star in Wrestling when he started staring in films (admittedly shit films like Suburban Commando, Mr Nanny) and appearing in better films (Rocky 3, Gremlins 2 etc) and had his own TV show (Tropic Thunder).

Thunder in Paradise is a modern day classic.

Although I still can't believe grown men actually watch and follow this shit.

Really dude?!?! The hair cutting was amusing when I was a kid but he was just a horrible wrestler!
I dunno he just made me laugh. To be honest I have no idea of any of their wrestling prowess - I was just into the theatre of it. Beefcake slapping the sleeper on and then cutting off their hair was deffo that!
