I could understand confusion surrounding any ban but driving with no insurance? Wtf! You earn £80k a week and you can't even insure your car?

Recently read that Recce James had all his medals stolen when the burglars stole his entire safe from his home. He couldn't even have the common sense to secure his safe to a part of the building structure. It's not as if he was short of money!

Why was he disqualified/banned? Tasty if they try to use him as an example but lets be honest, it'll be a fine and move on.

He will have very expensive lawyers, who will get him off with a fine and community service. If it is to be community service, he should have to do it in Liverpool.

Erm if you are banned.. you are not insured by default.. His earnings don't come into it..

No insurance company will insure you to drive, because you are banned.. If he had a policy in place it would have become null and void the second he was handed the ban.. I suspect that what's happened here...

It would support his defence if he didn't know anything about the banning..

Failure to identify a driver for a speeding offence.. which carries 6 points or more by default.

accumulated points by 'totting' up as result and received an automatic ban..

His case would have to be strong here, he would have to have pretty damn good excuse for not doing this.. His defence will have to centre around this explaining the circumstances as to why..

He proves that, it will then determine the rest of the case..

Unless of course his vehicle is multi use, which is quite possible with him being a footballer.. He could then use the Hamilton Defence (showing reasonable diligence). However to use that you would have thought he would have attended the original court hearing for that.. which he didn't by the sound of things, because he 'didn't know' there was offence committed in his vehicle..

😕

The fact that this is a story indicates some kind of progress, really. 30 years ago you'd be hard pushed to find a footballer who wasn't banned from driving
