Your priorities between now and Jan end

Other than on a supernatural level (and then its only @Dreambeliever) , we can do sod all to influence the club. What would you do if you was FSG/Hughes/Edwards?
For me
1. Sack Slot
2. Find Successor
3. See if successor can work with squad and mend any bridges
4. Buy CDM and Defender if needed. Sell players that are surplus to requirement

Sort out defence, if that means, buying a CB, or DM or both, then fine.
Find a coherent way of playing

Everything else

Don't care much who stays or goes as long we can do the first two things.

This is it, but might require Slot leaving to achieve. I wonder how bad things will get.

I agree with every word.

I'm not even that fussy if we get an interim or who it is providing there's some changes in terms of tactics, energy and morale. If Mr Blobby could that that for six months, I'd take it.

Ideally long term we get make a move for Alonso, Emery or just someone fucking good and knows what they're doing.

CB and DM are a must, but a new coach can probably get something out of Endo until the summer at least

Sack Slot first and foremost. I think most of everything else will fall into place if we get a competent manager.

i’ve really walked back on sacking slot, i was all for it but there were positives last year and negatives this year - jota loss, the player changes etc.

it might just be that he’s fucking shite at motivating the players but they’ll all improve naturally with time. the other thread about checking the pulse, i felt a pulse when he dropped mo, that’s a sign of life and wanting to change things.

tomorrows match is huge for him

Don't sack Slot
Don't sack Mo.

Restore or create an illusion of stability and unity between the fans and the team so our intended targets don't get put off.

Have some internal talks then pull the plug end January

For me the one and only priority for FSG from now till January is to persuade Klopp to come back as an interim manager at least until the end of the season. He absolutely IS persuadable and will probably put his disagreements with Edwards etc to one side if the club is in trouble and need him as we clearly do. Once a manager has a special bond with a club, they can be roped in time and time again - look at Bayern with Jupp Heynckes. I feel Klopp can be our Jupp, riding in to help the club when we are in a tough spot and riding into the sunset when he inevitably runs out of energy being in charge of this giant messy machine. Until next time, when we’ve messed up again…

IMO not reaching out to Klopp now when his return would instantly galvanize the team and fans and give us the best chance of turning this season into something positive would be an act of negligence on part of the owners. I hope they are not that petty.

Keep Slot
Mo to apologize and sack his agent
Play ekitikikikitakik off left
Drop konate for Gomez, buy Guehi and one other CB in Jan
If you keep Slot, the other points wont follow. Mo won't apologise, he will alternate between Isak and Hugo. Konate will continue to play 1st choice CB , its obvious he needs a couple of weeks off - he is physically and mentally fatigued, but Slot doesn't see that. Guehi would not want to come into the mess heap created by Slot

Truthfully I think this is the worst idea possible. We were all worried about how we'd transition from the Klopp era but we got through the first year with a title.

Now we're having serious problems and may need to make a change. But we don't need to reintroduce one of the most popular managers in our history on a short term rescue job.

IMO that only sets up further challenges. If Klopp can't get a tune out of this side, that's not good.

And if he does, then pressure is on him to stick around OR immense pressure is on his next successor and that could see them fall flat, the way most of us expected last year.

We've moved on from Klopp. And we need to continue moving forward, whether with Slot (unlikely) or someone else.

Players in Jan are arguably more important. For me that is at least one CB. Then ideally be trying to have a new manager, but new manager without any new CBs is also going to be fucked too.

I'm not sure we have moved on from klopp, is why I don't want klopp back.

Seriously? Is it a widespread feeling - not wanting Klopp back? Personally I feel he’s almost the only one who is almost guaranteed to turn this ship around and quickly - you need a huge, positive personality, not somebody who will build for the long-term. These players are hurting, doubting themselves, confidence is on the floor - you need a great motivator before you can address other issues and Jurgen is the best motivator I’ve ever seen.

Then in the summer we can appoint someone like Alonso, but if Klopp is successful in his second stint and wants to stay for a while, I imagine not many will say no.

I'm sure Klopp would be persuadable but it'll be Edwards' call, not the owners, and I can't see him doing it, whatever the merits might be.
